Imo State Governor and the Chairman of the All Progressives' Congress’  Governors Forum, Chief Rochas Okorocha, said that he is the bridge builder between the people of the North and South-east.

While pledging to build a Rochas Foundation College in Sokoto State, the Imo governor said that he was the only voice of change in the Southeast, which has remained apathetic to the ideals of the APC..

Okorocha spoke during the  inauguration of Mana Model Primary School in Sokoto on Tuesday.

“I am the son of the soil and I have been the only voice of change in the South-east. Therefore, I represent the bridge that connects the South-east with the North,” he said.

He said he would begin works on the college in Sokoto as soon as the in-coming administration allocates him a land, saying that was his own way of contributing towards educating the children of the less privileged in the state.

He said there could be no future for the children of the poor without quality education.

Okorocha praised Governor Aliyu Wamako of Sokoto State for according priority to education, saying his achievements would linger in the minds of the people for a long time.

Wamakko, in his remarks,  said the three Prototype Model Schools were set up in different parts of the Sokoto metropolis to tackle congestion and improve the quality of education in the state.

According to him, the Prototype Model Schools were constructed through UBEC/SUBEB 2012 Intervention Fund.

Wamakko explained that each school include an administrative block, a library, Science laboratory, 32 blocks of classroom, 64 toilets for pupils, play ground, computer laboratory, among others.

The governor further said competent teachers had been recruited to teach in the school.

He urged residents of the Mana area to utilise the facilities and safeguard the building against vandalisation.
