Insurgency : Fg Gives Relief Items To Freed Communities.

As part of effort to cushion the plight of those displaced by the Boko Haram insurgency attacks in Adamawa state,the Presidential Initiative in North East (PINE) has distributed food and other items to returning residents in the affected communities.

Distributing the items, the representative of PINE, Aminu Ahmad said ,"federal government is committed to the effect of the attacks and makes life easier for insurgency victims in the country".

It could be called that seven local areas in the state were liberated from Boko Haram insurgents, and lives in those area is gradually picking up but with alot of challenges.the

The local government areas are Madagali, Michika, Maiha Mubi North, Mubi South, Hong and Gombi.

Chairman of Madagali Local Government, Mr.Maina Ularamu while commending federal government for the relief materials , he warned that remnants of Boko Haram hiding in some remote villages in Madagali may continue to launch attacks on the area unless soldiers are deployed to surrounding villages.

"I want to appeal to the military to deploy soldiers to the remote areas of the affected councils because the recent attack on our people is from those bad element who have been frustrated out of the major villages in the areas".

He called for deployment of soldiers to the affected villages for improved security, stressing that many displaced residents are scared to return to their recaptured villages.

Residents received grains, spaghetti, powdered milk, detergents, blankets, buckets, raincoats and matches among other things.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation, saying the relief materials will alleviate their suffering, calling on government to do more to bring life back to normal in the area.

Meanwhile, the Catholic Bishop of ST Theresa Church in Yola, Stephen Mamza stressed the need for urgent food and medical supplies in recaptured towns and villages.

He lamented the difficult condition in which returning residents live, saying lack of food, water and drugs threaten lives of civilians in the area.

According to him, "my church has sent drugs worth millions of naira to the residents, thanking individuals and groups who contributed to the effort".
