Noscef Urges Borno Christians To Pray For Peace

The Borno State chapter of the Northern State's Christian Elders Forum( NOSCEF) has urged all members to intensify prayers for the state so that it shall regain its lost glory as the "Home of Peace".

The call was made by His Grace Most Reverend Emmanuel Kana Mani, the Archbishop of Jos Orovince and Bishop of Maiduguri Diocese at the launching of "NOSCEF MAIDEN UNITY CALENDAR 2015, which took place at the Holy Trinity Cathedral, Maiduguri. The Shehu of Borno , His Royal Highness Abubakar Garbai was represened at the occasion by Zanna Marrgima of Borno, Mr. Tarpaya Asariya.

Addressing the occasion, the Archbishop who is also the chairman of NOSCEF in Borno state, called on christians to always emulate the examplary life of Jesus Christ by showing love to all.

Archbishop Emmanuel Kana Mani also urged Christians to remain law abiding and loyal to constituted authorities in order to move the Nation foward adding that it is only when constituted authorities are obeyed that the state and country can progress.

In another development, Borno Chapter of NOSCEF led by its Chairman has paid a congratulations visit to the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Garbai Elkanemi over his appointment as the Pro-Chancellor of University of Lagos.

Archbishop Emmanuel Kana Mani said that the Appointment of the Shehu is a clear indication of the confidence which the Federal Government has in his leadership and called on all the people of the state to pray for a successful tenure.

In a press release issued by Engr. David Maina, Public Relations Officer ( PRO) of NOSCEF, Archbishop Kana Mani called on both cchristians and muslims in Borno to work together for the progress of the state.

He commended the examplwry leadership of the Shehu of Borno as a father to all people of Borno regarfless of ethnic, religious andsocial status and prayed for God to give him goodhealth and wisdom to lead his people accordingly.
