Boko Haram: Fresh attacks in Northern Adamawa state

There has been a relatively camp and peace in Northern part of Adamawa state from the incessant attacks of Boko Haram fighters. Not until these few days a suicide bomber suspected to be a member of Boko Haram launched a bomblast attack in Garkida the first of its kind since the began operations in Nigeria.

The insurgents have attacked Kwamda- Kobla village in Madagali LGA and killed ten people in northern part the State.

Sources indicated that about twenty Boko Haram members attacked the village at around 5 am on Saturday morning and attacked several men with knives and axes.

The chairman of Madagali Local Government Counc‎il, Maina Ularamu said the attackers did not shoot, they instead cut the heads of their victims.

According to him members of vigilantes had gone after the attackers before they escaped to their hide outs in the surrounding villages.

"‎The village is five kilometers from Gulak town but there is no security presence there as soldiers are deployed to Madagali town and Gulak only. When vigilantes went after the militants, they escaped to the their hide outs in the area", he said
