Special Inauguration Service For His Excellency, Chief (Barr) Nyesom Ezenwo Wike (CON) Holds Sunday, May 24, 2015

By Jerry Needam

A special Church Service to commence a week long activities of the Inauguration of Chief (Barr) Nyesom Ezenwo Wike as the Executive Governor of Rivers State has been slated to hold on Sunday, 24th May, 2015 at St. Paul’s Cathedral, Diobu, by Garrison, Port Harcourt.

A statement by the Chairman, Media/Publicity Sub-committee of the Inauguration Committee, Emma Okah said the service would begin at 10.00 a.m. with dignitaries from all walks of life, members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the cream of Rivers people and residents in attendance.

Barrister Okah, in the statement, said the Church Service was necessary to demonstrate the Godly disposition of the new administration to place God first in everything.

The Chairman said there is no better way of expressing gratitude to God for His grace upon Rivers State and her people but through a befitting Inauguration Church Service, considering the many ‘battles’ which His Excellency, in the course of his governorship aspiration, fought and won through the help of God.

Okah recalled the series of scheming by those he described as ‘enemies of the State’ to abort the swearing-in ceremony, saying it becomes imperative to thank God accordingly.

“The desperation of Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to stop the Swearing-in Ceremony through the courts in Awka, Anambra State and recently, Owerri, Imo State is still fresh in our minds. If not for God, these evil devices could have aborted the Inauguration which is God’s will for Rivers State” the statement concluded.

Meanwhile the public lecture on democracy and good governance will still hold on Tuesday next week while the Novelty football match and Variety night hold on Wednesday 27th May, 2015.

Signed:
Emma Okah
Chairman, Medial/Publicity Sub-Committee
Of The Inauguration Committee
Rivers State.
