Adamawa: Nyako loses bid to quash impeachment

By The Citizen

The impeached governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, on Thursday lost his bid to be reinstated as the governor of the state when a Federal High Court sitting in Yola, The Adamawa State capital, dismissed the suit he brought asking the court to quash the impeachment.

The trial judge, Justice Bilikus Aliyu, dismissed the suit, saying the case was an abuse of court processes.

Justice Aliyu added that the suit was an abuse of court processes because there were three suits pending before a competent court of law on the same issue and as such, she could not entertain the suit.

'I cannot continue with this case as the courts run concurrently. We will not encourage litigants abusing court processes. The case is hereby dismissed,' she said. - Tribune.
