Last Minute Looting In Nigeria

By Ugochukwu Onunkwo

The incoming administration should be on the lookout. The public should be aware. The already profusely bleeding economy is set under the surgical blades of a mafia in collaboration with a certain governor in the south eastern part of Nigeria.

First, they concocted fake documents and awarded fake contracts worth 5.8 billion naira. But in a sudden twist of fate, the said amount could not be shared by this group. The good news is that it has been recalled to the central bank of Nigeria. A court order was obtained on the 19thof May 2015 that this action.

It is a last minute attempt to commit fraud worth 3,188,079,505.96 dollars precisely. An earlier court judgment was obtained giving a nod to this act of kleptomania in a judgment dated march 12 2015 by Justice Ademola.

Simply put, a massive investigation should be commissioned to unravel this thievery.

President Jonathan should be held accountable for this very plot to steal money belonging to the 774 Local Government Areas.

The fraud and phony have implicated
· The ministry of justice
· Office of the vice president
· Office of the accountant general of the federation

· Office of the secretary to the federation
It is important that the incoming Buhari-led administration beam the searchlight on what happened to the contracts awarded for projects in favour of the umbrella body of the LGAs in Nigeria-ALGON.

These fictitious contracts are however not known to ALGON. It is also expected that the disbursement (sharing) of the loot will take place between now-may 19 2015, and the next 9 days. That is before May 29 2015.

It is on record that we did our bit we blew the whistle when we smelt a rat. The ball is in the court of the new government.
