Buhari May Be Impeached!

It is one thing to rejoice at Buhari's election and thank God for granting our wish...but do we, as a people, really believe in what he stands for? If we pretend to so do, are we prepared for the discipline?

Are we as individual citizens, ready to divest ourselves of our bad habits...expectancy regarding bribes....extortion...kickbacks....over-invoicing and inflated contracts...outright theft of public funds...applying funds to organize bogus conferences to "deliberate" on issues rather than spend such funds to directly address such issues?

I sincerely hope Buhari is not impeached just so we may revert to our evil comfort zones! But is it my wish that matters?

My worry also resides in the fact that the political class brooks no room for such lofty vision as espoused above.

They make no pretences that they have no space for true emancipation of the motherland in their dictionary!

I am equally dismayed by spirited attempts by some unscrupulous northern elements to downplay the contributions of the southwest to Buhari's election...by way of votes, goodwill and wild jubilation at his emergence as our president-elect!

Such posturing dampens the spirit.
And yet , our greedy political elites always toe this path of tribal posturing for their selfish ends...just so they may continue to stuff up their gluttonous bellies!

They are just too predictable on that score! My stand is...Buhari is a Nigerian. Period!

But the north seems to view it all as power merely returning to them!

No wonder there are plausible suggestions of northern PDP elements deliberately sabotaging their party's chances in the last elections!

And Tinubu's clandestine nocturnal visits to PDP Chairman Muazu just prior to those elections...most likely to sell him the "power-back-to-the-north" yarn...just so APC could win the presidential election at all cost! That is, if Fayose's claims were to be believed. And I see no reason for him to tell a lie in this regard!

That some northern elements in the APC now throw southwest votes and goodwill back in Tinubu's face is a logically-expected sequence of events. That is if we take the risk of being guided by the Nigerian version of logic!

For Tinubu, let's just say the chicken has simply come home to roost...

For as far as the Nigerian politician is concerned, his stomach comes first...and matters of the throat must be accorded prompt priority...always!

Someone just called that "stomach infrastructure"....

And as our greedy politicians jostle and scramble to pad up their stomachs...and all these happening even before May 29, Buhari may just be the victim.....
