Why Akwa Ibom Professionals In Lagos Supported Udom’s Candidature—Udeme Ufot, APCON President
The Chairman of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria, APCON Mr Udeme Ufot,MON, has said that Akwa Ibom professionals in Lagos rallied round Udom Emmanuel in his Governorship bid because of the huge confidence in his sterling qualities and ability to deliver meaningful development in the state.
Udeme who is the coordinator of Akwa Ibom Professionals in Lagos, in a radio interview in Uyo, assured Akwa Ibom people that the incoming administration of Mr Emmanuel will fully hit the ground running from May 29th 2015.
"Udom is someone whose track record speaks excellence and achievements, he has exposure and experience, he is God fearing and I can assure Akwa ibom people that he will hit the ground running.”
The Akwa Ibom Professionals organized series of campaign exercises for Mr Emmanuel, including an endorsement ceremony and a fund raising campaign, and Mr Ufot has restated that the state should be prepared for an industrial revolution as the governor-elect enjoys global trust and the international community knows him as a man of proven integrity that can provide the enabling environment for their investment to blossom.
He added that udom is a hardworking man hence the decision of Zenith bank to make him its executive director.
"For an Akwaibomite in Lagos who joins a bank and is able to grow through the ranks of that bank and gets to the position of an executive director. It takes some clout, it takes some drive, it takes some passion, it takes extreme hardwork to grow, not just in any bank but in Zenith bank, one of the leading banks in Nigeria that is known for excellence".
He mentioned that Akwa Ibom at this point needs someone like Udom Emmanuel who has spent his entire life managing resources, men, investments, mergers, acquisitions and wealth.
He noted that Udom was very familiar with key industry players in the world that would assist in making the state attain the height of an industrial hub. "Akwa ibom is looking for industrialization and wealth creation and our governor-elect Mr udom Emmanuel has all it takes to achieve that".
Mr Udeme Ufot who is a past President of the Lagos Business School Alumni Association, also went ahead to commend the state governor Chief Godswill Akpabio for laying the solid foundation for industrialization. He noted that the state now has all necessary infrastructure that will attract foreign investors.
He continued "this government is very aware that it has to hit the ground running from day one".
As a member of the recently inaugurated transition committee, Mr. Ufot revealed that the committee will among other things, gather information on the existing structure of the outgoing government and recommend appropriate reforms for overall improvement and better efficiency of government.
