The Chief Judge of Ogun State,  Justice Olatokunbo Olopade, has freed no fewer than 38 inmates, who were awaiting trial in all the five prison facilities across the state.

The Chief Judge, who paid a two-day courtesy visit to the facilities, lamented that the strike embarked upon by judicial workers, which was recently called off, delayed the exercise.

Olopade pardoned six inmates, who were awaiting trial at Ilaro Prison, while she set free 15 inmates at Ibara Prison.

Twelve were freed by the Chief Judge at Oba Prison in Obafemi-Owode Local Government, while three and two were freed at Ijebu and Sagamu, respectively.

One of the lucky inmates, Oluwatoyin Akanni, who had been in prison for two years, said her phone was stolen by a lady and in the process of retrieving her phone, a guy she told beat the lady to death.
