Steve Ageh: A Chartered Accountant Cum Politician With Credibility

Chief Steve Ageh is one of the renowned Isoko chartered accountants ever produced in recent times in Lagos. He is from Uruabe quarters at Olomoro Town in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State. He attended Ajeromi Public School, Lagos and Uro Grammar School in 1976 and had the best result and he later proceeded to the University of Benin where he studied Accountancy.

After his successful graduation, he did his one-year mandatory NYSC with a firm of Chartered Accountants and later got employed with Societe Generale Bank briefly and wrote an external examination with Chartered Institute of Bankers in London here in Nigeria. He is also an associate of the Chartered Institute Bankers London.

As a man that desires for accountability change, he also joined Z.O Osonanya.Co,a firm of Chartered Accountants, Western House, Broad street,Lagos.He rose to the position of Audit-Senior. In this capacity, he participated in and led the audit of reputable firms like First Bank and Africa Petroleum Plc, Portharcourt International Airport Hotel among others. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1988. He later joined Universal Trust Bank as an Inspection department.

The department is responsible for setting up systems and control. He was second in command to the Chief Inspector of the bank and later became a Branch Manager of the bank at the Victoria Island. In 1995 when the Nigerian Bank Crises hit the economy which prompted Chief Steve Ageh to leave Nigeria for London in 1996 and was employed with BISSALL and CO,a firm of Accountants based in Middle Sex,England and H.Pierson and Associate-financial and banking consultants, credit loans, transactions for banks, customer services and others.

Chief Steve Ageh is one of the qualified accountants that Isoko nation has ever produced with credibility. With vast knowledge in accounting, he has able to create a niche for himself. He has trained many bank executives on granting of loans and customers’ services and others. One thing about Steve Ageh is that he sees beyond the four walls of the profession. Having returned to Nigeria few years ago, he decided to set up a guest house as part to create employment in Nigeria.

He is also a member of Chartered Institute of Taxation in Nigeria. He believes that a leader must command respect not demand respect that prompted him to join South South People’s United Forum(SSUF) as a bonafide member who believes on the progress of South South People in Lagos State.

Politics of integrity is one of the core visions of this Olomoro-born Accountant cum Politician in Nigeria. He is also an active member of South South Residents in Lagos who is outspoken to the core. An established entrepreneur who has one way or other extended his philanthropic gestures to the poor.

With his banking, academic and international experiences, he was able to enlighten bankers on Profitability Liquidity Safety (PLS) and other banking services without hesitation. His stint in politics never came suddenly but he saw the need to be identified with creative politics that made him see South South People’s United Forum(SSPUF) as a platform to express his grievances in all ramifications.

He also believes that group politics helps a government in power to identify an ethnic group easily and nothing else. He also advised entrepreneurs to live according to their means. Life is all about learning from your past.

Lastly, today he runs an affordable and modern guest house at 20-75 Green Estate, Amuwo Odofin,G.R.A where quality services are provided for customers with 24hours generating set, highly trained staffers and guaranteed security operatives.
