Bayelsa Political Future Is Secure

I have read some recent online analysis concerning the likely outcome of PDP's continuing governance of Bayelsa State considering that the opposition party was billed to assume power at the centre. Some say Bayelsa future was uncertain. That Restoration Government's continued dominance would only trigger a spate of decamping to the opposition fold.

Others envisage that the federal muzzle may indeed be employed against the incumbent Restoration government where appointment of die hard opponents to Federal positions is made by the new government.Yet there is another school of thought fixated at perceived "internal implosion" in the party considering what it describes as many interests not apparently satisfied by the present leadership in the state.

They cite the "internal wrangling" in the ruling party. I have gone through these analyses to show the reader a portion of that cloud they are weaving -but fortunately none of these analyses is correct in terms of perceived outcome vis a vis the reality on the ground here.

Let me start by reassuring all that there is nothing that could happen to Bayelsa State that has not already happened. The danger is over. Believe it or not,the future is as bright as was planned and now being executed by the Restoration Government of Governor Dickson.

My analysis hinges on two grounds. Firstly it is based on personal experience. I have an unbroken experience of governance here dating back to the then the first Civilian Government. I have seen these administrations go through the same jinx of insecurity, uncompleted projects, rumor mills, uncoordinated internal processes, laws and vision. Along the years I saw them pull their knowledge together under the leadership of President Jonathan to seek a common solution. Restoration was their common long term vision. Restoration the idea then naturally threw up a leadership under Governor Dickson, one of its most practical purveyors. At that point it became an idea that was to transcend the "small" State Bayelsa into a pan Ijaw movement because foreseen even as at that time was the present you and I witness today.

The largeness of this idea provided a big enough umbrella for all past well meaning leaders to embrace its tenets. You saw it yourself my friend ,was it also a mirage? Such caliber of leaders do not easily embrace one vision and subordinate themselves to it unless they believed in it. So Restoration was to outlive the President Jonathan Presidency and even the oil boom! It was a blueprint that was stronger than its human element in power so now you can see why it's present leader is not for once anxious about politicking for temporary advantages. He said he would not play politics with Ijaw national affairs, with the true interest of Bayelsa... And the Governor went about investing in long lasting projects. Some say as if he was a Head of State not just a Governor.

Well look at it closely: Airport,Seaport,Maritime Academy,GIS,Investors heaven, all aimed at opening up the State for a long lasting economic viability. While you talked about second term the Governor was busy building for the next generation. While you talked about stomach and the now he said Bayelsa was in a hurry to undo the mistakes of all regimes since 1996 because he probably saw clearly that President Jonathan was not going to be there forever and that it may become more difficult to open up the state in another clime. While you wanted the money shared per capita, which was easy he took the difficult path. Today we can understand it better!

Secondly, based on logic that the Restoration government is growing stronger rather than weaker by the day.Indeed an analyst said it was only now that Governor Dickson was coming to power!

While you are anxious of the future, you should also be aware of the growing adaptations of the Restoration government In Bayelsa to meet that improbable future and neutralize it accordingly. Indeed rather than its powers decreasing I would rather buttress that the Restoration government is just coming to be,and will be getting stronger and stronger, better and better in managing such outcome to bring about peace and security in the State.

Yes. What you had all along was only the beginning of this deep sited movement,a period of trials.I do not see the place for bloodshed which cannot go together with the dream future of the Ijaw race. I say so because knowledge is not in short supply here to nip every destructive intention in the bud before it develops into disorder. Now why do you suppose so much has been spent on modern technology to enhance peace and order to this day in Bayelsa?

I am only sorry for those who would dare this impregnable system on this regard. This system is strong enough to weather any storm! It was made to be so to reassure investors and I can assure you that it is foolproof. Look at the build up of this government and you would realize that it took every such occurrence into consideration in Governor Seriake Dickson's inaugural address.

Go back to that masterpiece to see for yourself. The Responses of Restoration so far was designed with the mindset that this opposition is not likely to have the Bayelsa interest at heart outside the exigencies of money politics and that it thrives on banner headline of lies and public deception.

The above suggest to you that only the homogeneous people who in any case are not always as productive will be attracted by these claims of empty strength. Restoration is calm and calculated and its power becomes more apparent with time.As for the federal might, there is no danger of the State not working in tandem with all that is statutory and in line with laid down national interest in cooperation with other States.

There is adequate constitutional separation of powers and the state is adequately protected by law to shape its own destiny within the am bits of the law. On the other hand any attempt to unduly misuse the federal might will likely backfire against its perpetrators so common sense will not even consider it. The Federal Government will likely cooperate with such positive developmental states as Bayelsa because the opposite will set in a clash with the natural laws.

When deception too many begin to struggle along the rather uncertain solid pathway of reality and then also and automatically today's mystic will wane! So indeed if you truly consider it you realize with some joy that at no time will falsehood ever overcome truth; and that with time Restoration and all positively looking organs in Nigeria will likely be the banner that provides the people their only true succor.
