ABIA APGA’s Dr. ALEX OTTI Questions Credibility And Validity Of The April 25 Election

By Alex Otti Camp

The APGA Abia State governorship candidate, Dr. Alex Otti (OFR), has issued his reaction to what he called “an unlawful series and shameful pattern of electoral misconduct and violations by the Abia PDP, Governor T.A Orji and his agents during the April 25, 2015 supplementary election.”

Dr. Otti has, therefore, underlined his position regarding what he identified as “colossal abuses and truncating of the collective civic expression of Ndi Abia which hold more than sufficient evidence to raise critical and relevant questions about both the credibility and validity of the April 25, 2015 contest for votes. LET ME MAKE IT VERY CLEAR: I WILL DEFEND THE SANCTITY OF YOUR CIVIC ACTS OF HAVING VOTED FOR ME AND FOR APGA WITHIN ALL LAWFUL AND CONSTITUTIONAL MEANS.”

Also, he cited what he has characterized as “the unfolding violations of Nigeria’s electoral laws in Abia State, outright and blatant rigging of the governorship election and gross threats to inflict deadly violence against anyone who vote(d) for APGA during this April 25 and the April 11, 2015 contests.”

Specifically, he stated “We believe and know that the agents of these unlawful acts which have included the despicable display of real coffins with invocations of death and killings for anyone that voted APGA. Sadly, this is where the state PDP gang with the outgoing Governor has reduced a once glorious Abia to primitive fetishes and occultic symbolisms.”

He added that “Above and beyond the deliberate provocations, I commend the outstanding citizens of Abia for their restraint and showing through ACTUAL Votes cast that APGA is the first choice of our people in the governorship and legislative levels, all across the State — especially moreso and proven at the very immediate, local wards of the PDP chieftains. You, the Abia voter, propelled and cast the winning votes for a better future; away from a failed, squandered past.”

It will be recalled that Otti, the former Group Managing Director of Diamond Bank and first class graduate of Economics from the University of Port Harcourt, was the target of the deadly, sponsored and armed attack of Thursday March 19, 2015 while he was campaigning.

Dr. Otti added "as is public knowledge, the government of Abia State has consistently deployed and unleashed raw power, intimidation and all manner of brutality against my campaign and candidacy. Evidently, the regime of T.A. Orji and his cronies have become very desperate since their rounds of propaganda and strings of malicious lies using Abia government agencies to attack our surging, development agenda-driven campaign have failed woefully in the face of the power of the popular votes of the long-suffering people of Abia State!”
