The leadership of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) has assured the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Odigie Oyegun that the union will preserve the interest of the party in Delta State and beyond, as Nigeria under General Muhammadu Buhari preparesfor a greater socio-economic rebirth for the nation.

The Union acting President-General, Chief Tuesday Onoge gave the assurance when he paid a special courtesy call on the APC National Chairman in Abuja on Wednesday April 22. Onoge said the good people of Delta Delta Central voted massively for General Buhari and Olorogun Otega Emerhor both at the Presidential and Gubernatorial elections but that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rigged the elections to the dismay of Delta electorates.

He said Nigeria is about to experience greatness like never before because the President-Elect and the APC as a party are a super combination that will catapult Nigeria to the mountain top of socio-economic relevance among comity of nations, adding that the 16 years of PDP misruled had brought the nation to global ridicule in terms of accumulated debts, impunity and reckless spending of government monies and other valuable resources across board.

Chief Onoge who was accompanied by the Delta APC candidate in the just concluded governorship election in the state, Olorogun Otega Emerhor said the Urhobo Nation is proud of their illustrious son in the person of Emerhor who over the years has consistently maintained high level of integrity in the banking and insurance business; which is why they now queue behind him to bring development to the Urhobo Nation in particular and Delta State in general.

Responding, Chief Odigie Oyegun thanked Chief Onoge for the visit and asserted that the Urhobo Nation is one ethnic nationality in Nigeria that has made remarkable progress in terms of national and international socio-economic spheres and promises to continue to partner with Onoge and the UPU for the greater presence of the APC in Delta State.

Oyegun who hails from Edo state said Delta and Edo are one indivisible family and that there is the absolute need for the APC to take over Delta State since Edo State had since keyed into the wind of Change that brought significant progress under the incumbent Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomole.

The APC National Chairman described Emerhor as a perfect gentleman who has done a lot towards the growth of the APC in Delta State in particular and the nation in general.
