Naus Condemns South African Xenophobia

The National Association of University Students' (NAUS), a students body with over 20 million students across the Nigerian universities and Diaspora has strongly condemns the sudden attacks on Nigerians and other foreign nationalist in South Africa which led to the killing of 5 peoples over the past week.

The violence had spread to the commercial city of Johannesburg where security agency try all the means to stop the South Africans from blocking roads and burning of tires in various part of the city ordering Nigerians and foreign nationalist to leave the country despite all the effort made by Nigerian government and other African nations in librating the South Africa from apartheid.

NAUS calls on South African government as a matter of urgent to ensure the end of this unfortunate situations within three days ultimatum, anything contrary to this will force the association to mobilize its members and shut down the South African embassy in Victoria Island, Lagos.

While commending measures taken and calling on the Nigerian government to ensure the safety of lives and property of Nigerian community in South Africa.

The University students body describes the xenophobic attacks as barbaric, inhumanity and very unfortunate.
