SAN FRANCISCO, April 17, (THEWILL) – Chief Vincent Ogbulafor's surprise visit to the national headquarters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Friday, where he met privately with the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, and other members of the party's NEC, is fueling speculations that he may defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), where he once served as its national chairman and national secretary.

Ogbulafor visited the APC secretariat at about 1pm and told journalists who sought to know the reason for his visit that he “Came to congratulate the national chairman of APC for a job well done. APC has produced the president of this country and I have to congratulate him for job well done.” He said his visit was not because he wanted to join the party.

“I have been National Chairman, National Secretary and Minister. I will remain in PDP until it becomes necessary to make a change,” he added.

The Deputy National Chairman, (South) of the APC, Mr. Segun Oni, defended the visitor telling reporters that Ogbulafor did not visit the secretariat as part of a defection plot. He said his visit was private adding that Ogbulafor and Oyegun have been friends for years.

“The National Chairman is his friend and some of us also. I am looking forward to our other friend, the National Chairman of PDP, Dr. Adamu Muazu, visiting us here to say congratulations. As politicians, we must salvage this process called politics and rescue it from charlatans. We must give it a colour of decency and maturity,” Oni, a former Governor of Ekiti State on the PDP platform said.
