Mystery Disease Kills Dozen In Ondo, Southwestern Nigeria

SAN FRANCISCO, April 17, (THEWILL) – At least twelve persons have been killed by a yet to be identified deadly disease in Ode-Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State, Southwestern Nigeria.

The symptom of the disease, which was discovered on Wednesday , include headache and blindness before death.

Ondo Health Commissioner, Dr. Dayo Adeyanju, told the media in Akure, the state capital, that the disease could not be likened to Ebola virus explaining that samples from the corpses of infected persons had been taken to laboratory for confirmation

Dr Adeyanju said government was on top of the situation to ensure that the disease was prevented from wreaking more havoc.

Dr Adeyanju urged members of the public to disregard any information on social media claiming that corpses now littered Ode-Irele community as government had deployed its disease control team to the area to stem the tide of the ugly incident.
