Following the declaration of the Imo state Governorship/House of Assembly election as inconclusive, the INEC Resident Commissioner, Dr. Gabriel Ada has fixed April 25 for the re-run election.

Speaking to newsmen at the INEC Office, Owerri, Dr. Ada hinted that election will hold in 250,000 polling units across 23 local government areas in the state, adding that the reason for the re-run election was because, the margin of win which is 79,000 was less than the 145,000 votes that is supposed to come from the areas where there were infringements and other irregularities.

He revealed that re-run election will also hold in six state constituencies of Isu, Ikeduru, Isiala Mbano, Oguta, Oru east and Owerri west. He hinted that those INEC officials who were involved in one malpractice or another will be brought to face justice, stressing that the Commission has put machineries in motion to ensure free and fair election.

Ada posited that there will be no manual accreditation, except the incident form is filled for that purpose, adding that only the card reader will be allowed on the election day.
