INEC declares Abia governorship election inconclusive!

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Saturday’s governorship election in Abia State inconclusive.



INEC declares Taraba state governorship election inconclusive.

The election was a two-way race between the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Mrs. Aisha Al-Hassan, who may become Nigeria’s first elected female governor and the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, Darius Ishaku.

Before the stalemated election, INEC had officially recorded 317,198 votes for the PDP and 262,386 for the APC.

According to the returning officer the difference in votes between the PDP and the APC is 54,881, while the rejected votes from some troubled areas are over 100, 000 votes.

The INEC official said supplementary election will be held within 30 days.



Zamfara:
Incumbent Governor Abdulaziz Yari of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has been declared winner of the governorship election with a total vote of 716,964. His closest rival, who is also his father in-law, Alhaji Mamuda Shinkafi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 201,938 votes.



Kwara:
INEC Declares incumbent governor Abdul-fatah Ahmed of the APC winner of the state’s governorship election having polled 295,832 votes against the governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Simeon Ajibola, who polled‎ 115,220 votes.



Delta:
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa, has been declared winner of governorship election having polled 724,680 votes to defeat his closest rival, Labour Party’s (LP) Chief Great Ogboru, who polled 130,028 votes, while the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor polled 67,825 votes.

The result was announced at the INEC office in Asaba by the State Returning Officer, Professor Bio Nyanayo, in the early hours of Monday.

Okowa won in 21 of the 25 local government areas of the state while Ogboru won in four council areas. The APC candidate, did not win any LGA.



Cross River:
Professor Ben Ayade, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate has been declared winner having polled 342,016 votes, ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Mr. Odey Ochicha, who polled 53,983, while the Labour Party candidate, Fidelis Ugbo, 36,918 votes.



Niger:
All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Alhaji Abubakar Bello, has been declared winner having polled 593,702 votes to defeat Alhaji Umar Nasko of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 239,772 votes.



Narasawa:
Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared winner of the gubernatorial election in Nasarawa State. He polled 308, 536 votes to beat Mr. Labaran Maku of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) who got a total of 186, 151 votes, while the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Yusuf Agabi, polled 115832 votes.



Rivers:
INEC declares candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Barr Nyesom Wike winner of last Saturday’s governorship election. Wike polled 1,029,102 votes to defeat Dr Dakuku Peterside of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 124,896 votes.



Plateau:
The All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Barr. Simon Lalong has been declared winner of the state governorship election by INEC. He polled 564, 913 to defeat the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP candidate, Sen. Gyang Pwajok who scored 520, 627 votes.



Imo:
‎The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the Imo State Governorship election inconclusive.

The election was a two-way race between incumbent Rochas Okorocha of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to results announced in Owerri by INEC, the APC candidate polled 385,671, while the PDP 306,142. The difference in the votes between both candidates was put at 79,529, while canceled votes was144, 715.



Bauchi:
The All Progressive Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Bauchi State, Mr. Mohammed Abubakar, had been declared winner of Saturday’s governorship election in the state.

Abubakar polled 654,934 votes, to defeat Mr Mohammed Jatau of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 282,650 votes.



Sokoto:
House of Representatives Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aminu Tambuwal of the APC wins Sokoto state governorship election.



Oyo State:
Governor Abiola Ajimobi of the APC wins reelection in Oyo State.



Jigawa:
Aminu Ringim of the APC wins in Jigawa State governorship poll.



Benue:
Chief Samuel Ortom of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared winner of the Benue State Governorship election. Ortom polled 387,753, while the PDP’s Terhemen Tarzor polled 296,189.



Lagos:
Agbaje Calls Ambode, Concedes Defeat In Lagos Governorship Election

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr. Jimi Agbaje has conceded defeat to the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Akinwunmi Ambode, who was declared the winner of the Lagos state governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC on Sunday.

In a tweet, Agbaje wrote: “I just called #AkinwunmiAmbode to congratulate him on his victory. I wish him well and pray he will be successful in guiding this state.”

Meanwhile, the PDP in Lagos has petitioned INEC over the conduct of the election, saying Card Readers were not used in several local government areas including Epe, Babagry, Mushin, Ikorodu, Eti-Osa, Alimosho, Ikeja, Ibeju-Lekki and Lagos Island.



Adamawa State:
Mallam Nuhu Ribadu (PDP) concedes defeat in Adamawa Governorship election to the APC governorship candidate.



Ebonyi State:
Ebonyi State Deputy Governor, and governorship candidate of the PDP, Engr. Dave Umahi declared winner of state governorship election.

Umahi polled 289, 867 votes to beat the Labour party candidate, Nkwegu, who polled 124, 817.



Enugu:
Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of the PDP declared winner of the Enugu governorship election having polled 432, 377 against 43, 839 polled by his closest rival, Key Ezea of the APC.



Gombe:
Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) re-elected Governor of Gombe State having polled 285, 369 votes against the APC’s 205, 132 votes.



Kaduna:
El-rufai Says Governor Yero Has Called To Concede Defeat

The Kaduna State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mallam Nasiru El-rufai has tweeted that incumbent Governor, Mallam Muktar Yero of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called to concede defeat.

“Just received a phone call from Gov Mukhtar Ramalan Yero congratulating me for winning the Kaduna Gubernatorial election. I thanked him too,” El-rufai tweeted.



Post Election Violence: Irate Mob Burn Emir’s Palace In Gombe

The palace of the Emir of Kashere, in Gombe Central Senatorial District has been torched by an irate mob just a few hours after the governorship and state assembly elections held in the state yesterday, where incumbent Governor Dankwambo of the PDP may have succeeded in retaining his seat for another term of four years.

Katsina State:
APC wins overwhelmingly as Aminu Bello Masari, its Governorship candidate will be declared winner.



DELTA: THEWILL projects Senator Ifeanyi Okowa of the PDP, winner of Delta State Governorship election with clear wins in at least 22 local government areas of the state out of 25 LGAs, and getting the required 25% in at least 18 LGAs as required by law.



RIVERS: Three killed in Buguma, headquarters of Asari-Toru Local Government Area. Palace of traditional, INEC office in the area also razed by hoodlums as electoral violence continues in the state.

*** Voting to continue on Sunday in some areas of Rivers state due to electoral irregularities. At least nine wards affected where elections were not held and several other areas, where elections were either cancelled or disrupted due to fraud and violence, says Gesila Khan, INEC state REC in Rivers State.



EBONYI: Chairman of the PDP in Ishielu Local Government Area, Mr Emeka Nworie killed by gunmen at his residence at Ezzagu. The Police said that the gunmen shot him multiple times after demanding for money from the slain politician’s wife.



AKWA IBOM: All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State has announced the boycott of today’s election citing irregularities, widespread hijack of electoral materials and fraud. The party wants the elections cancelled.

ADAMAWA: Governor Bala James Ngilari has disassociated himself from the curfew imposed on the state by the state commissioner of police. In a press statement Saturday, Ngilari directed the public to ignore the directive.

The police had declared a dusk to dawn curfew from Sunday till Tuesday citing post election security concerns.

** Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, Saturday said he would concede defeat if he is defeated. Ribadu made the declaration after voting at his Aliyu Mustafa polling unit in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.



LAGOS: Police AIG in charge of Lagos and Ogun States, AIG Joseph Mbu Saturday said restriction of vehicular movement order may be extended from 6.pm till 8.pm.

Mbu announced the development to journalists Saturday when he visited Mr Akin Orebiyi, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Lagos.

Meanwhile, voters turn out for the elections in Lagos maybe lower than the numbers seen in the presidential and national assembly elections of March 28, 2015.

*** Jimi Agbaje (PDP) loses polling unit to Akinwunmi Ambode (APC) in Apapa by 124 votes to 88 votes in the governorship election. PDP was also defeated in Agbaje’s polling unit in the House of Assembly election (unit 009, ward 3, Apapa) by 89 votes to 82 votes.

*** Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, foreign affairs minister wins polling unit (PU013, Gerard/Alexander road, Ikoyi) for the PDP in the governorship election by 50 votes to 48 votes. In the House of Assembly poll by 50. In the House of Assembly election, PDP polled 63 votes and APC polled 33 votes.



KADUNA: Voters’ apathy noticed across the state. Number of accredited voters reported to be less than half of those accredited for the presidential and national assembly polls.

Governorship election is a two-way race between incumbent Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero (PDP) and Mallam Nasir El Rufai (APC).



PLATEAU: Again, Card Reader rejects Governor Jonah Jang’s during accreditation just like it did during the presidential and national assembly polls. Governor eventually accredited manually and allowed to vote.
