The Show Of Shame By "Elder" Godson Erubebe

The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was fully set to tee off the day's events at the International Conference Centre, Abuja....venue for the final announcement of the Presidential Elections in Nigeria....the Collation Centre...

But as Mr Jega got poised to summon the next State Collation Officer to proceed with this job, an elderly man rose up to raise a "Point of Observation"...

The learned Prof must have presumed him to be a gentleman, considering his pedigree as a former minister of the republic...as he gladly asked that the cordless microphone be handed over to him...

Then the tirade....type of which I never witnessed even in recently-weaned toddlers....as Mr Erubebe went on:

"Jega, you are compromised! Jega, you are partial! The people must rise and protest! We have lost confidence in you, Jega! You collected the petition sent to you by the APC on Rivers State! But you refused to collect our own on three states! I will not leave this podium except Jega addresses these issues!" He took the better part of an hour in such disruptive tantrums! He repeated himself countless times...

And as some persons pleaded with him to return to his seat, he went on.."I will come back to this podium if Jega continues with this announcement of results!"

Expectedly, our security agents just stood aside...and simply looked on...

We must not forget to advise this Erubebe of a man on name change...with regards to his first name. There is nothing Godly about his conduct or baseless accusations.

He must have hoped that members of the APC would react....that verbal exchanges would give way to fistcuffs...then chairs and tables would be tossed about....then teargas...followed by guns and armoured tanks! It all shows the desperation of the PDP. That Jona would through an irresponsible proxy, revert to such funny tactics....akin to the manner ladies are reputed to weep and "dabaru" matters at hand to "da oju oro ru"....is no less childish as it is uncaring for the safety of us all, as Nigerians....just for the inordinate greed of one man culminating in his desperate wish to hold on to power at all cost!

But he and his stoogies actually miscalculated....and wildly misfired...as they forget that the governorship and state assembly elections are still nigh!

Who will want to vote for them now? Who would wish to pitch his tent with a band of street thugs in political garb?
