The Bottom line Now and Always... #VoteNigeria

By Aniwura Omolayo

Is it just me or did every topic in Nigeria, these past few months, somehow become a heated discussion on politics?

And yes, everyone is an expert except the political players themselves.

Talk about roads and the next thing you hear from your barber would be detailed analytics of various government commitments and eventual performance! Bring up price of tomatoes and that becomes a trigger for fever-pitch arguments on the state of agriculture in certain regions.

The election is finally here and the entire population has been tensed but eager to move on to other matters. While some have emptied their bank accounts and stocked up their homes in anticipation of trouble, others are simply enjoying the most work-free Saturday of the year.

Oh, let's not forget the jolly retailers, airline operators and others who are feverishly leveraging increasing demands.

The bottom line? The people want to vote for leaders who will not forget them. The people want Nigeria to thrive. The people want Nigeria to stand. The people want Nigeria itself. Regardless of whom they vote for, the people sincerely hope for the best.

The 2015 elections will decide a lot of what the future holds, but it would hopefully bond Nigerians closer than ever.
