Imo Govt Donates Transformer To Relief Market To Boost Power Supply

In its bid to ensure that every Imolites taste the dividends of democracy, Imo State Government has commissioned a 500KVA transformer donated to Relief Market to help boost their dwindling power supply.

Commissioning the project at the market on Thursday, March 26th, 2015, Governor Rochas Okorocha represented by the Chief of Staff, Government House and Commissioner for Special Duties in Imo State, Sir Jude Ejiogu said that the transformer was meant to improve electricity supply in the market and as well, assist all the market women, men, artisans and everyone making use of power supply in the day to day running of their businesses.

Sir Ejiogu maintained that the primary objective of the rescue mission government in the state was to alleviate the sufferings of all Imo citizens, and urged beneficiaries of the Governor's gesture in the market to reciprocate by supporting his re-election bid.

He advised them to make judicious use of the transformer by ensuring its protection and maintenance, assuring that the state government would not leave any stone unturned in ensuring the continuous improvement of the state.

According to Sir Ejiogu, "The present administration has touched the lives of all Imo people through the free education programme, good roads, hospitals, agriculture, and as well raised the standard of living of every market women, men and youths".

He therefore called on them to resist every form of inducement from the opposition whose interest is to loot and siphon the treasury of the state, appealing to them to continue to support the Governor and all APC candidates in the 2015 general elections.

Speaking also, Caretaker Chairman of Relief Market, Mr. Samuel Randy Okoro expressed happiness that Governor Okorocha came to their rescue to solve their electricity problems, after many years of failed promises by past administrations to provide them with transformer would boost their power supply.

He recalled that prior to the donation of the transformer by Imo State Government, the market was in a very thick darkness which according to him affected their businesses and led to the closure of some prominent trades in the market as a result of non availability of electricity supply.

The Chairman while sounding very angry warned all his members not to vote candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for turning down their pleas on the electrification of the market or any political party, other than the All Progressives Congress ( APC), in order for them to continue to sustain the quality of Relief Market.

Mr. Okoro while thanking the rescue mission government for its giant strides in the state under four years, also appealed to his members and all Imo people to come out en mass to vote for Governor Rochas Okorocha and all APC candidates in the 2015 general elections.
