Leonard Umunna: The Father of Nigerian Christian Musician with Heavenly Voice

Bishop (Prof.) Leonard Nwaoma Umunna is fast-becoming a household name in the Christian music community. He was called into the ministry at 9 which he would be marking his 52years on the pulpit with extra-ordinary legacies and 61 years on earth by June 25th, 2015.Apart from being a renowned Bishop of Africa and Nigeria, he is also a gifted Christian musician with passion. He started from a church where they told him point-black that he had a bad voice but he was not discouraged than encouraged himself in the lord.

Though he felt dissuaded to some extent but stood on his ground to learn how to sing and study music intrumemts.One thing about Bishop Leonard Umunna is that ,he has able to know all parts of the church department without delegating functions to the unknown members. He is an omnivorous reader to the core. He has able to create a distinguished name for himself in Nigeria.Today,a man who never had a good voice to sing now having over 10 music albums to his credit.

By March 15, 2015, Bishop Leonard Umunna would be launching another heavenly album into the market. In 2014, precisely, he launched an album titled “God is Able” which sold all over the Christian music markets in Nigeria. He is not singing to mint money or profit but glorify our lord Jesus Christ that died on the Cross of Calvary. He is the only Ajegunle Bishop that has the Davidic voice to sing with his hands and a great dancer. At 61, Bishop Leonard Umunna is not tired of singing to his God that saved him from untimely death even when he was paralyzed at his toddler. As Bishop Umunna continues to get closer to God, his angelic voice continues to wax stronger in His vineyard.

However, only few gospel musicians at his age still singing to glorify God while Bishop Umunna remains steadfast in His presence. Many Christian arts started with the undiluted message but later fell into the prey of Satan but Umunna was able to weather the storm of life. Singing for God has become his passion and that was while his church choir recently won a competition at music, the foundation of Umunna has become a solid one that any singer must develop a passion for creative singing. He is famously called as “Father of Drama and Music in Nigeria”. Some worshippers that listening to his song ministrations have equally received their freedom from the power of darkness. Any music album of Bishop Umunna has a meaning to it. He is not just singing alone but has glorious dancing group with special costume. He also produces movies and act along the storylines. The kind of Bishop Umunna is few in Ajegunle if anything to go by. He has able to prove all

doubting Thomas's wrong that good things can also come out of Ajegunle city. Having watched some of his video clips at his palatial office, his style of dancing is special and different from any other Nigerian Christian musician. It is time for Bishop Umunna to open a Music University in Ajegunle which could be affiliated from London due to his wide connections across the globe.

Lastly, Christian music is gradually disappearing from the market due to worldly songs that have taken over the market in recent past years. Bishop Umunna believes that songs from heaven glorify the angel of the lord. If producers fail to sponsor Christian arts but the gospel of Christ would still be preached to the people. He has distinguishably used one talent in him to produce several talents and create jobs for Nigerians. He remains the Bishop of Africa. He is the Presiding Bishop of Bible Life Church Cathedral International with over 100 branches to the credit of God. Only one thing Bishop Umunna needs is the National Merit Award for making the Christian proud over the years. writer, singer, producer, reader, preacher,TV orator, grassroots supporter, Health provider, movie creator, School administrator, university scholar , theological teacher,philanthroper and many more. He remains a good Bishop that lives good legacies for up and coming pastors in Nigeria.
