The Borno state chapter of Women in Da'awah, today, presented relief materials to the internally displaced persons, taking refuge at the Bakassi Housing Estate IDPs camp situated along Biu road in Maiduguri metropolis.

Coordinator of the group, Malama Aisha Aisami said they were at the camp not for political purpose, but to sympathise with the displaced persons at this trying moment, especially women who lost their husbands during the insurgency, urging them to take solace in God.

She said the items they brought were donated by the One Ummah, a sister organisation based in Abuja, to alleviate their suffering.

Former State Amirah of FOMWN, Malama Fati Alhassan, who also spoke during the presentation, urged the displaced women to be God fearing in all their dealings and have faith in Allah in whatever situation they find themselves, saying that what happened to them is already decreed by Allah.

The items donated by the women include 30 bags of rice, 19 carton of spaghetti, two carton of bournvita and satchet of peak milk and sugar. Others comprise 50 pieces of plastic mats, four carton of soap, two bags of detergent, kettles as well as a blackboard, chalk and exercise books.
