Yoruba will be better off with Jonathan….Oyo LP dept Governor

Barrister Sharafadeen Abiodun Ali, the Labour Party deputy governorship candidate in Oyo state has said that the Yoruba people will be more comfortable if President Goodluck Jonathan emerges the winner of the forthcoming presidential election

Barrister Ali said giving President Jonathan another opportunity to serve is the best option for the nation going by his antecedents during his first four years in office

Speaking at the Omo Ajorosun club Ibadan where he took delivery of a brand new 18 Seater Toyota hummer bus donated to the foremost cultural club of Ibadan indigenes, Alli noted that President Jonathan has laid many foundations of better things to come if allowed to serve for another term in office

Alli who is also the President of the club placed emphais on the National Conference courageously organized by President Jonathan as an opportunity to give Nigeria a true federalism which the Yoruba leaders including the sage, Chief  Obafemi Awolowo had been advocating for over the years, if the report is adopted and implemented as President Jonathan has promised

According to him, “with the confab courageously facilitated by President Goodluck Jonathan, Yoruba would be more comfortable to vote for him against any other candidate. The fact is that while Jonathan organized confab which is now giving us a hope of a better structured Nigeria, the party under which the other candidate is contesting boycotted the confab.

so, it is only by voting for Jonathan that one is sure of approval and implementation of the resolutions of the conference”

He said: “the national conference President Jonathan organized was in response to the yearning and aspirations of the people. Many issues were raised and addressed at the conference and it is even a thing of joy that all the resolutions were arrived at unanimously”

Barrister Ali declared that his personally excited over the prospect of Ibadan State as he said  state creation, true federalism, federal allocation sharing formula , major highlights of the confab were in tandem with the desire of the Yoruba race which would also positively affect all the tribes and groups of the country.

“To me, the only way to ensure we get the full benefit of this report is to allow President Jonathan a second term in office. My fear is that, his major opponent and his party never supported the confab or participated, so I don't see them implementing the report

“And to say the least, the Nigeria nation has been through a lot and I believe the confab report has the solution for Nigeria to become a truly federal state in line with practice in other parts of the world. I don't think the Afenifere's that endorsed President Jonathan are wrong and I think we all should tow that path”

While receiving the bus donation, the former Oodua Investment  board Chairman described the minister of state for FCT as the best in the history of any Yoruba person serving in her capacity.

according to Barrister Ali, Oloye Akinjide had more than any minister in the last 16 years made the greatest impact in terms of liftting the status of the through decent and outstanding representation, value and reaching out to all the nooks and crannies of the state. She is the best so far”

While expressing the Clubs appreciation for the kind gesture, he assures the PDP Presidential campaign coordinator that the good people of the state know better between the two major contenders for the presidential office and will give the necessary support to ensure the continuity of a course that will make them better as a state and nation as a whole
