The Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, wants the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in the State, Dakuku Peterside to tell Rivers people what plans and programmes he has for them if voted into office instead of monitoring and trailing its party's standard bearer, Nyesom Wike and replicating his programmes.

The Rivers State chairman of the party, Bro Felix Obuah in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Jerry Needam, said it has noted with disdain the outright lack of personal initiative on the part of Mr Dakuku who rather than come up with programmes and strategies to move the State from its present parlous condition prefers to monitor and restate Chief Wike's programmes and promises.

To show that Dakuku Peterside is just being foisted on Rivers people without being prepared for job the PDP notes, he has shown no originality or creativity of mind in the course of his campaigns, always waiting on the wings until Chief Barr Nyesom Wike says or does something so that he can follow suit.

This, according to the party he has done by visiting same places and groups as the PDP standard bearer has done, repeating same promises and ridiculously confirming his grandmaster, Chibuike Amaechi's failures as pointed out by Wike all in his bid to copy Chief Wike without noticing the contradictions.

One of such contradictions, the PDP notes, is the promise to rebuild all abandoned projects by the Amaechi administration which Dakuku has also promised when he had earlier said that the Amaechi-led government which he is part of will not leave any abandoned projects behind.

Berating Dakuku for copying Chief Wike's programmes, the PDP said no sooner had Wike considered worth doing to embark on House to House campaigns, visits to Motorparks, Churches, Markets and NGOs than Dakuku Peterside embarked on similar visits.

It's painful that this is the kind of person that wants to govern a State full of potentials like Rivers, the PDP regrets.

The party dares Mr Dakuku to mention one strategy or idea he has on how to improve the State economy which is not derived from Wike's master piece, wondering whether this is how to rebuild the State yearning for reconstruction from Amaechi's mismanagement which requires an original, creative and curious mind which he lacks.

“This is the more reason why we believe Chief Nyesom Wike, a tested technocrat is the best bet for the job of Rivers Governor and not APC's Dakuku”, the PDP declared.

Signed.
