‎APC is the messiah that Nigeria needs - Ashafa

Senator Gbenga Ashafa, representing Lagos East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, at the weekend, said that the APC is the only Messiah that Nigeria needs to rescue her from the shackles of poverty and uncontrollable level of unemployment the country is facing at the moment.

The Lawmaker made this known on Sunday while commissioning a 3 newly-converted motorized boreholes to communities in Mutaku, Owu and Ado communities under Ikosi Ejinrin Local Council Development Area of Epe town in Lagos State.

Ashafa who lamented the neglect of the ruling party in the state said that the Federal Government is full of unfulfilled promises. He recalled in 2011 when Jonathan came to Lagos state and promised that he would build the Murtala Muhammed Road and till now he never did.

"The Red Line of the Light rail system is still hanging because the Federal Government has refused to approve the take off of the project for more than two years now. Also, the proposed Lekki Seaport is being hindered because the Federal Government has refused to pay its counterpart funding of $117 million, “yet, $20 billion is still missing.”

Ashafa said if APC comes to power at the federal level, it would serve as the new 'messiah' to rescue the Nation's economy which has greatly been hampered by the present administration.

Meanwhile, the borehole projects became expedient, following several complaints by people in the area that the hand pump boreholes initially constructed under the Millennium Development Goals, MDGs scheme ceased to function almost immediately after completion in 2013.
