2015 Valentine Day: An Auto Reflection On The Future Of Nigeria

By Eberechi Kennedy

Valentines day is something we all hold near and dear. It's a day of love, loyalty, and gestures. Despite this, it means something different to everyone. Some find it depressing and others get extremely excited about it and yet others find it as an excuse for companies to sell chocolate and flowers. No matter what your opinion is, it is a day accepted by everyone and means something to all of us.

Consequently, the Founder of the Ngozi Juliet Olejeme Foundation; Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Juliet Olejeme has called on all Nigerians to use this year's Valentine day celebration as an opportunity to show love to our country. This was contained in her message to Nigerians on Friday preceding the 2015 Valentine day celebration.

Accordingly, Dr. Olejeme conscientized Nigerians to use this occassion as an auto reflection on the continued progress and development of our dear Country Nigeria. For her greater celebration of love should be returning President Goodluck Jonathan as the winner of the Presidential election in March.

Furthermore, she explained that the importance of this call was underscored by the wave of political tension in the country. "At a time like this in our nation, there is no greater celebration of love than the sustainability of the already existing developmental strides of the Goodluck Jonathan's administration". She therefore urged all well meaning Nigerians to show greater love to our country by voting President Jonathan back to office for a second term come march this year.

Beyond this, Dr. Olejeme who has a great passion for the disadvantaged in the society also expressed optimism that her foundation will continue to do its best in attending to the needs of the disadvantage in the society. Perhaps, it will be apt to note here that Ngozi Juliet Olejeme's personal character, humane nature and her ability to impact on people's lives particularly the widows and the less-privileged ones in the society through her official contacts and financial capability has endeared her favorably to the generality of Nigerians who describe her as a benevolent woman, filled with the milk of human kindness.

In addition, it would be recalled that the foundation through its coordinator in Abuja; Barrister Chukwuemeka Clement had earlier appealed to Nigerians to join hands with the foundation in taking the message of love to the door steps of these vulnerable people in our society, especially during this season of love.
