Should A Geniune Redeemed Child Of The Living God Serve Under A Non-christian Leader?

The frenetic manner born-again children of the Living God in Nigeria have embraced the political twins of Prof Femi Osinbajo and Gen Muhammadu Buhari in the forthcoming presidential election on Saturday March 28, 2015 is unprecedented in Nigeria. We are all praying, fasting, rooting and working assiduously on all fronts to ensure Gen. Buhari and Prof. Osinbajo emerge the next president of Nigeria and vice-president respectively. And by the way, let the INEC and the temporary powers-that-be operating in the shadows postpone the presidential election every day till they will have no hiding place until one day between now and May 29, 2015 Nigerians vote. This year, at this epochal moment in Nigerian history, something remarkable and earth-shaking is about to happen in Nigeria. Just as our Lord Jesus Christ told the Pharisees and Sadducees in Mathew 16: 2-3: "When it is evening, you say, 'It will be fair weather, for the sky is red' and in the morning today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.' You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.” Is it not incredibly astonishing that outgoing President Goodluck Jonathan and his gang in the PDP can't just get it? Don't they know the jig is up and as I disclosed in this column few weeks ago, the Lord God Almighty has already shown to President Jonathan that he's not coming back for a second term as president? Why is Jonathan tempting destiny? Why does he think he can undo what the Sovereign Lord God Almighty has already decreed for him and Nigeria this year 2015? Why does he think he and his coterie of leeches can drag a whole nation down with him this year? It isn't going to happen. He has played his part in the history of Nigeria and he should step aside for Nigeria to move on. This brings us to the issue of this column this week which many fellow Christians have taken up with me. That is; should a redeemed child of the Living God like Prof Femi Osinbajo agree to serve as vice-president to a non-Christian president like Gen Muhamadu Buhari? What does the Holy Bible say?

First to start with, the Sovereign Lord God Almighty is the creator of all human beings; believers and unbelievers alike. When I say believers here, I mean born-again Holy Spirit-filled, tongue-speaking children of the Living God. Forget about non-Christians who also believe in other gods but as Apostle Paul told the Greeks in Athens during his Second Missionary Journey in Acts 17: 22-23; “Paul then stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said: "People of Athens! I see that in every way you are very religious. For while I was passing through and examining the objects of your worship, I also found an altar with this inscription, 'TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.' Therefore what you worship in ignorance, this I proclaim to you.…” This is supposed to be our attitude as Apostle Paul did here: proclaim to the perishing and unbelieving world that Jesus Christ is the Messiah and no one can make it to heaven but ONLY through Him, because as our Lord Jesus Christ declared authoritatively and unambiguously in John 14: 6: “Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Non-Christians may feel bad, take umbrage and call us all kinds of names for declaring this Gospel Truth, but we are just stating the obvious and telling them the truth. To believe or not to believe in that thick line in the sand on the weighty issue of eternity is their problem. No human being has the power to change another person; in other words, our Lord Jesus Christ didn't command us to change the hearts of non-believers, rather “witness” to them. It's the Holy Spirit that can change peoples' hearts and win them for the Creator as our Lord Jesus Christ pointed out in John 6: 44: "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.” Consequently, what should be the approach of Christians to serving under non-Christian political leaders? How can a genuine pastor as Prof Femi Osinbajo accept to be the vice-president of a Muslim President Buhari in 2015? Can or rather, should a born-again child of the Living God serve under a non-believing political leader? What does the Holy Bible say about this issue? Throughout human history, the Almighty Lord God works in mysterious ways and circumstances many times unfathomable to lesser mortals. He said as much in Isaiah 55: 8: "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts.” In other words, the Sovereign Lord God Almighty doesn't work in obvious ways. As sin-soaked and fallen human beings of yore, our ways of doing things on earth are diametrically-opposed to God's Way. How can an army conquer another nation by simply marching round the city walls seven times and then shout Hallelujah? How can a nation cross the Red Sea by a prophet God stretching his staff and the sea parted? How can a woman be promised a child only for her to wait for 20 years at the old age of 90 years that is past child-bearing? Over and over again in the Book of Life, the Lord God did and still does things unexplainable and beyond our finite human imagination because He is God, period!

After the fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, the Lord God Almighty lost the entire human race to Satan and his demons. Satan then proceeded to organize this world according to his convoluted ways by dividing the entire earth among him and his fallen angels known as principalities and demons. How they did this and many more are contained in the Holy Spirit-directed book I co-authored; “The Kingdom of Satan Exposed.” If not for the covenant or agreement that the Lord God Almighty had with Man in Genesis 1: 26 and reiterated again in verse 28: “Then God said, "Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground,” God would have ceded the earth to Satan. That was the game plan of Satan; to become a god on the earth after he was flushed out of the heavens with his rebellious angels and there was no place for them as revealed in Revelation 12: 7-9: “Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.” You see, it was Man that the Lord God Almighty had a covenant with and not Adam and Eve so the disobedience of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden in Genesis 3 did not vitiate the covenant and agreement that God had with Man as a generic a priori. That was why our Lord Jesus Christ referred to Himself as the Son of Man when He came physically to the earth to free us from the Great Kidnapper; Satan. Hallelujah! As far as God is concerned, the Man that He created and covenanted with in Genesis 1: 26 and 28 had not fallen. In fact, the expression; “fall of Man” is not in Holy Bible in situ, but was inserted as heading in all Bible translations. The Man that God Almighty created with vested power, authority and dominion had and has not fallen. It was Adam that misbehaved when he and Eve disbelieved God and obeyed Satan, but since God had already said that this earth had been given to Man according to Gen 1: 26 and 28, anything that proceeds out of God's mouth cannot go back void but must be fulfilled. This is the genesis of the spiritual warfare on earth between God and Satan, Adam's children and Satan's minions.

This is why God Almighty had to set in motion series of events and actions, some revealed and some concealed in order to restore the human race-Adam's children-you and I-back to Him. He loves us so much. This is why Satan and his demons are pissed at us-you and me- and try in all conceivable and inconceivable ways to destroy us. Satan hates you. He hates this writer the more, but he has no choice but to bow to us-those of us redeemed children of the Living God through the Blood of Jesus Christ-period. But to restore Adam's children back to Him, God Almighty had to choose one person-Abraham-and birthed a nation out of him-Israel-and then use that nation to come physically to the earth in His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ to carry out the “rescue operation” of the whole human race. This is why you shouldn't be surprised to read all the stories in the Holy Bible were concentrated on the Jewish race. It wasn't because other nations on earth were left out by the Lord God Almighty. The Lord God Almighty that created the Jewish people was the same God that created the Egyptians and He is the same God that created Nigerians, Americans and you and me. So why did He choose the Israelis? He answered this question in Exodus 19: 3-6: “And Moses went up unto God, and Jehovah called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel: Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself. Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed and keep my covenant, then ye shall be mine own possession from among all peoples: for all the earth is mine: and ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel” (ASV). The whole earth belongs to the Lord but He had to choose a small group of people to demonstrate His awesome powers in that nation so that other nations would be surprised at the success of that small nation and wished to be like them. The Israelis weren't chosen because they were special, in fact, Moses told them straight to their faces in Deuteronomy 7: 7-9: “ The Lord did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. But it was because the LORD loved you and kept the oath he swore to your ancestors that he brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh King of Egypt. Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.”

That was why He took the Israelites through the wilderness to train, instruct, test, prepare and humble them so they could be His priests to other nations and spread the Good News of His coming to the earth to save us from our great kidnapper-Satan. Unfortunately, the Israelis didn't get the message well or the memo was missing so He allowed them to be invaded and scattered all over the world. He gave them over to the Babylonians, Assyrians and other invaders so that the original contract or agreement He had with them through their forefathers must be fulfilled. He had to send Jeremiah and other prophets to the Israelites to let them know what He was doing in their lives by sending them into exile. The prophet Habakkuk too asked what was the Lord God doing and why He allowed such great calamities to befall His people. God read the memo again to prophet Habakkuk this way in Habakkuk 1: 2: “Look at the nations and watch— and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.” Consequently, the nation of Israel was sent into exile and while in exile, the Lord God Almighty achieved His purpose. In faraway Babylon while in exile, three young Israeli boys: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego witnessed fearlessly and bravely to a pagan king (Daniel 3: 16). In the same exile, another genuine believer in the Sovereign Lord God Almighty proved himself beyond reproach and conducted diplomacy and statecraft with probity, excellence and integrity that a non-believing pagan king was forced to bow down to the Lord God Almighty when he said in Daniel 2: 46-47: “Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell prostrate before Daniel and paid him honor and ordered that an offering and incense be presented to him. The king answered Daniel and said, "Surely your God is a God of gods and a Lord of kings and a revealer of mysteries, since you have been able to reveal this mystery."… How would a wicked king and a pagan like Nebuchadnezzar have been humbled by the Lord God Almighty, if he was not confronted with the awesome powers of the Living God, Hallelujah! The same spiritual truth was forcefully brought home by the transparent manner Nehemiah conducted himself in exile while he was chief of staff to King Artaxerxes of Susa (Nehemiah 1). The incredible story of Queen Esther was also another evidence of how the Lord God Almighty operates behind the scenes in nations and countries of the world to push back the powers of Satan and darkness. He also did the same to Jonah when He told the truant and run-away prophet to go to Nineveh for revival. Jonah baulked but this was what the Lord God Almighty told Jonah: “Then the LORD said, "You had compassion on the plant for which you did not work and which you did not cause to grow, which came up overnight and perished overnight. And should I not have concern for the great city of Nineveh, in which there are more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left--and also many animals?" Over and over again, you see the Hands of the Sovereign Lord God Almighty behind the scenes in history, at times He revealed this to us while at times, He may choose not to because; “The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law” (Deuteronomy 29: 29).

WHAT IS DIFFERENT NOW IN 2015 IN NIGERIA AND PREVIOUS ELECTIONS?

So why all of a sudden now in 2015, Nigerian Christians are rooting for Buhari as president when in the previous three attempts, born-again Christians weren't enamored of his presidential prospect? The same Buhari chose Okadigbo, a supposed Christian and a graduate of the Catholic University of America here in DC as his running mate and he was defeated. He again chose Pastor Tunde Bakare and he lost. What is special about Osinbajo this year? I was against and opposed to Gen Buhari in 2011 and campaigned vigorously for the election of President Goodluck Jonathan. I left the United States and went to Nigeria to address a press conference in Lagos and made a case for the election of Mr. Jonathan in 2011. So what has happened between 2011 and today? First, Okadigbo was a “Christian.” Pastor Bakare is a real man of God and has the Holy Spirit but the Holy Spirit told me that he-Bakare-operates as a lone-ranger. For a man or woman of God to effect meaningful change in the world and bring as many souls as possible to the Way, he/she must learn how to work in concert with other believers. There is power in unity and strength in collaboration. Our Lord Jesus Christ never prayed for the world on the eve of His physical departure on earth, but prayed for us His own and His prayer went like this in John 17: 9-11: “I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours. All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them. I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one…”

Consequently, any man or woman of God who wants to make meaningful impact on earth for the Lord God must work in concert with fellow believers. I respect Pastor Tunde Bakare. I interviewed him when I was a working journalist in Nigeria for The Champion Newspapers in 1990 when he was about to open his church at the former warehouse on Akilo Road in Ikeja after leaving the Redeemed Christian Church of God. I listened to him and his testimony at the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship at Gateway Hotel in Ogun State in 1989, and we spoke in Ijebu-Ode in 1989 when he was prevented by the Awujale of Ijebu Land from using Itoro Hall at the Ijebu Ode Local Government in 1989. I visited his church twice in the 1990s when I was still in Nigeria. There is no doubt that he is a true man of God, but he needs to learn to collaborate and work as a Christian Collective. This was the reason his choice as running mate to Buhari in 2011 didn't make any impact on the electoral fortune of Gen Buhari.

Now this year is different, because President Goodluck Jonathan has been tested by God and has been found wanting and hence rejected. Born-again children of the Living God are voting for the APC this year not because of Gen Muhammadu Buhari, but voting against President Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP. Pastor Femi Osinbajo became the beneficiary, because he represents that wing of the Nigerian Evangelicals that is vibrant and cohesive. As I pointed out in this column few weeks ago, the Almighty God has shown to Mr. Goodluck Jonathan that he would not win the forthcoming presidential election. He must have been assured by those Christian pastors that have collected money from him, but he knows himself that he's not coming back as president. He had a dream where the Lord God Almighty conveyed this eternal message to him, because he refused to carry out the Lord's assignment. He reneged on the vows he made before God in 2010 when he was fighting for his political life and as God warned in Deuteronomy 23: 21: “If you make a vow to the LORD your God, do not be slow to pay it, for the LORD your God will certainly demand it of you and you will be guilty of sin.” Again, as Ecclesiastes 5: 4-5 noted: “When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfill it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow. It is better that you should not vow than that you should vow and not pay.…” Let INEC postpone the presidential election every day between now and May 29, 2015, Nigerians will vote one day and Jonathan will be gone. In fact, postponing the election is widening the margin of Jonathan's defeat by Buhari.

Finally, the power of time in the scheme of God's plan in and for Nigeria. The Lord God Almighty is a program-scheduled God. He is a planner and in the overall scheme of things on earth, He is still in control and absolutely in charge. Remember I said in the overall scheme of things. He is the mover and maker of history. The Teacher aptly made this clear in Ecclesiastes 3: 1: “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens…” In 1997 as we languished in Abacha's prison at DMI Apapa, Uncle-later Sen. Olabiyi Durojaiye-who was detained with us at DMI asked me over the fence what the Lord God Almighty had shown me about the fate of Chief MKO Abiola. This was at a time Nigeria was sitting on the cusp of precipice and no one knew what the future of the nation would be. I told Uncle Biyi that Abacha would die but Abiola would not become president. He asked dejectedly what would be the result of all our sufferings over the June 12, 1993 struggle. I told him what the Lord God Almighty told me that, if Chief MKO Abiola became president Nigeria would split. He was shocked. I didn't like the message myself but I am only a messenger. I told him that God said He would re-arrange Nigeria in answer to the prayers of His children in the next 21 years. Right now, there is a serious spiritual warfare over the soul of the Nigerian nation. This cosmic war is intense and ferocious and only those shown by the Living God would understand. The good news is that, Evil will not, has not, has never, and will never defeat Light. Beginning from this year 2015, the Lord God Almighty wants to sweep Nigeria clean. Hear what He said about Buhari: “For the sake of Jacob My servant, And Israel My chosen one, I have also called you by your name; I have given you a title of honor Though you have not known Me. I am the LORD, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged me…” Only those with spiritual insights and have been shown by the Holy Spirit will understand what the Sovereign Lord God Almighty is about to do in Nigeria. I pray you will receive revelation knowledge to know what these things are in Jesus Might Name, Amen.

It wasn't by accident that the Lord God Almighty allowed a pagan Pharaoh to choose one of His own: Joseph as prime minister. It wasn't a coincident that the Lord God Almighty moved a pagan King Nebuchadnezzar to appoint Daniel his Senior Special Adviser in Babylon. The Lord raised King Darius up to replace King Belshazzar without the former's knowledge. The Sovereign Lord God Almighty worked silently behind the scenes in Artazerxes court by bringing Esther up as Queen for a purpose. In the New Testament, Luke was mightily used by God by working through King Theophilus who provided generously for the Gentile Medical Doctor to pen two of the most authoritative books in the Holy Bible: Luke and Acts-as directed by the Holy Spirit. On and on again in the history of the human race, the Lord deals with us by not revealing Himself in certain situations, because as He said in Isaiah 45: 15: “Truly you are a God who has been hiding himself, the God and Savior of Israel.” The Sovereign Lord God of the heavens and earth is about to do something new in Nigeria in this year 2015. Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has received the memo of what the Lord God Almighty is about to do in Nigeria through Buhari and Osinbajo. That was why the man of God shouted last week and warned all those pastors that were reported to have collected money from Jonathan and the PDP to return the lucre. It is blood money. If it's also true that Bishop David Oyedepo has collected money from Jonathan, he's going against the Will of God in Nigeria. The Sovereign Lord God Almighty is through with President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria. Just as He told Samuel over Saul in 1 Samuel 16: 1: “The LORD said to Samuel, "How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel?”

I heard that Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark gathers despicable characters together at his house in Abuja and shared Nigerian money brought to him at night by a sinking and rejected President Goodluck Jonathan. This old man who says he's already in the eternal departure lounge to answer the way he lives on earth before his Maker is still playing all these wily Satanic and demonic games with blood money from Jonathan. He and his children and grandchildren will pay dearly for this blood money. This time is different. This is why the Forces of Evil, Satan and Darkness are arraigned against the Forces of God, Good and Light in Nigeria this year 2015 and genuine children of the Living God should not let up in their prayers. As Habakkuk remarked after the Lord God showed Him what He was planning behind the scenes; “Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.” (Habakkuk 3: 17-19), I pray you who are reading this will adopt the same attitude as the Prophet Habakkuk in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

I read your prophecies for 2014 and unfolded events indicate that the vessel who spoke is of God. Now, I've read the 2015 prophecies and I believe The Most High God has told us things about our beloved Nation Nigeria. I have a concern: there is a strong indication that President Goodluck and PDP have perfected plans for the election not to hold on 14/02/2015. Please Sir what is the way out of the evil plot (President Goodluck and PDP plan to use a 'friendly judge' of a court to disqualify or stop General Buhari from contesting for the election on his (Gen. Buuhari' certificate) certificate on the eve of the election. I am concerned Sir. I love my country Nigeria and I don't want any evil to happen to us (Nigerians).
