More knocks have continued to trail the purported adoption of the Deputy Speaker House of Representatives and Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in the state Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha by an acclaimed faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Imo State.

In a recent statement made available to the press by the media aide to the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Imo State Barr. Iwuala said that the adoption was done by hoodlums, fraudsters whom he said were none members of APGA.

'The same group of people who went and adopted the Deputy Speaker as APGA governorship candidate had earlier approached my principal Capt. Emmanuel Ihenacho for a ransom but my principal did not see why he should pay such an amount because he wants to serve Imo people. Those persons are non members of APGA. They are hoodlums, and fraudsters who go about causing confusion. Why should an APGA member adopt a PDP governorship candidate when APGA parades the best governorship candidate in Imo State? I even heard that the hoodlums obtained huge amount of money from the Deputy Speaker for the illicit job. That is madness. The action is an unorthodox political intrigue by politicians who do not have any programme to sell to the people. But this time around, anybody who wants to rule Imo must have a programme, present his programme to the people and also present himself for public scrutiny not looking for a short cut…' he summed up.

On the recent destruction of campaign billboards of his boss in Mbaise, Barr Iwuala condemned the act describing it as barbaric act and an exhibition of political immaturity and cowardice.

'The destruction of campaign bill boards of Capt Ihenacho in Mbaise is barbaric. It also shows that some persons are afraid of contesting election with our boss. However, nobody has the monopoly of destroying bill boards and nobody should provoke us into being drawn into a 'war' of destroying bill boards. We know the people who destroying the bill boards. This is because in destroying the bill boards, the hoodlums tactically left the bill boards of their sponsors while that of others were destroyed. In as much as the act is highly provocative but as a law abiding group, we have taken it with maturity and in good faith. We have also calmed our supporters who were already highly provoked by the act down. We have also accepted to replace the damaged boards at our own cost. Nevertheless, will not fold our hands next time if any of our principal's campaign bill boards are destroyed...' he warned.
