PDP's Dream Of Taking Over Lagos Won't Come To Pass – APC
BEVERLY HILLS, January 27, (THEWILL) – The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that “the shallow rooted dream” of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Jimi Agbaje, to take over Lagos will end in more resounding defeat as previous cases.
The party said Lagosians will not, for anything, hand over their state as a feeding bottle for Agbaje's godfather “for his ignoble record in looting the Nigerian Ports Authority.”
The party described PDP's bid of taking over Lagos as a curse Lagosians will never visit on themselves given the wreck the PDP has made of Nigeria and the states under its control in 16 years of corrupt and failed leadership.
APC made these declarations in a statement issued Tuesday by its Lagos State Publicity Secretary, Joe Igbokwe.
The party said Lagos has passed the stage it will ever be handed to those that are pushing Agbaje like a soulless robot for the purpose of seizing the flourishing state of Lagos and subjecting it to the kind of wreck Nigeria has experienced in the past 16 years.
It therefore advised Agbaje to stop wasting his time trying to cull a miracle of ever replacing a performing government with a puppet for the purpose of satiating the greed of his godfathers.
“It is a well known fact that Agbaje is a stooge and puppet to the duo of Olabode George and Adeseye Ogunlewe; two politicians that are best remembered for the despoliation that trailed their feel of political office in the ant-infested PDP governance of Nigeria in the past 16 years.”
“How he hopes that with his knowledge of patent medicine dealership he can take Lagos an inch further than the enviable height the APC government has placed it in the past 16 years by kowtowing and taking orders from the soiled duo is left to the imagination.”
“Even in its most desperate state, PDP in Lagos, Agbaje and his godfathers will never deny the fact known across partisan lines in Nigeria and beyond that Lagos has been taken from the seedy slum the PDP described it 12 years ago to the engine room of the Nigerian economy, with near perfect security, superlative infrastructures, healthier and cleaner environment, efficient health sector, sound educational sector, innovative judiciary, great traffic management, empowered workforce, enlightened citizenry, etc.”
“They will never argue the well-known fact that Lagos remains the most viable state in a Nigeria where the myth of oil is dying and states have to live on what they have invested in building an independent economy that will drive its survival.”
“They will never debate the universally fact that Lagos, has in the last sixteen years, tapped and developed the human resources potential needed to drive a modern state, one of the few mega cities in the world with millions of Nigerians displaced by PDP's wreckage of a country that earned sixteen years' oil boom, daily fleeing to Lagos to find succour and survival.”
“In contrast, the Nigeria Jimi Agbaje and his PDP wants to import to Lagos is one where hundreds of trillions of Naira have been earned in 16 years, yet there is no light, no jobs, all infrastructures are ran down, where corruption walks on all fours, where insecurity of lives and properties have become the order of the day, where some parts of the country have been annexed forcefully by insurgents, where stealing is not corruption, where statutory bodies like NPA are subjected to such asset stripping as jar decent minds, where poverty spreads like wildfire, where hunger, disease and want ravage citizens while the so-called leaders revel in ill gotten wealth.
“But every Lagosians know the fact of Jimi Agbaje's journey so far as the PDP governorship candidate for Lagos, few days after he was exhumed by the duo of Bode George and Ogunlewe and foisted as their candidate. We wonder how such a front for well-known reapers will govern a state that has become a reference point for good governance when he is primed as a puppet that will exist, govern and act on the pleasure of his godfathers who are in well expressed need of empires to colonise and plunder,” the statement said.
It added: “We want to tell Agbaje and PDP that their present excursion in political hallucination will end the way previous PDP efforts ended. Lagosians will never exchange competent, judicious and sure-footed governance that have given Lagos its enviable status as the last hope of a collapsing Nigerian economy for a puppet and soulless lackey for two grudging godfathers with well known record for plundering.”
“Lagos will never ever regress to become the feeding bottle for Olabode George who molted up the Agbaje candidacy as a way to access the Lagos treasury for despoliation as they and their PDP party men did to Nigeria.”
