Kengema Unity Forum, KUF and Network for the Defence of Democracy and Good Governance, (NDDGG) organizations founded by Kalabari advocate and Rivers PDP political heavyweightGeneral Sobomabo Jackrich (a.k.a Egtberipapa) has staged a peaceful protest over refusal of Rivers State Government to allow the Peoples Democratic Party hold its presidential rally at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium. The protesters consisting of membership of KUF and NDDGG across the 23 local government of Rivers state and beyond in the various placard insisted that the PDP was entitled to the use of the stadium. The spokesman of the protesters, and legal adviser of the group, Barr. Tubotamuno Dick in his presentation called on the Rivers state police to provide security for the planned rally.

Hear him: "The All Progressive Congress guber aspirant for Rivers State, Dakuku Peterside has used that stadium for his rally; Governor Amaechi has used it for Buhari's and APC presidential rally. Now, the PDP wants to use it for its own rally and somebody who said he's the Governor is bent on frustrating PDP from using it”.

While making his point at the Commissioner of Police's office, Dick explained that PDP has followed due process to acquire that stadium. “We have come to tell the Commissioner of Police, because the police protected the APC during their rally. Now the police should accord us the same protection, unless the police are taking sides or feigning ignorance of the actions of the APC”.

"If there is any bomb, the police should bare us witness who is responsible for that bomb. If we go there and there is a collapse, Amaechi is responsible for that collapse."

Meanwhile in a telephone chat with the founder and leader of the groups, General Sobomabo Jackrich had stressed that the action of the state government to deny him usage of the said stadium for his rally is an affront on the person and office of the President of the federal republic of Nigeria.

'Jonathan is our son, and his home coming to Rivers state is like a home calling of our son to his place of abode, and one of the best gift we can offer to him is to grant him access to the stadium he desires as his preferred venue for his event. The Rivers state government's action is tantamount to impunity – hence we must as matter of exigency stop politicizing of everything in the state”.

“Can he try it if it is a Northern or Yoruba President? Because President Jonathan has overlooked certain things in the interest of peace and unity of this country does not mean he should be taken for a ride. Governor Amaechi and his cohorts should stop this macabre dance and play politics based on issues – not desperately and despicably looking for ways to score cheap political' he was quoted as saying.

The protest took them to the premises of the headquarters of the State Police Command in Moscow road, PDP state headquarters and other areas of importance.
