BEVERLY HILLS, January 26, (THEWILL) – A social commentator, Solomon Dalong, has called for a re-orientation among Nigerians, saying they should eschew all forms of religious and ethnic sentiments as the February general elections approach.

Speaking weekend at the inauguration ceremony of the campaign of the Gombe State gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Inuwa Yahaya, Dalong said the interest of the country should be uppermost in the hearts of the people as they prepare for the elections.

He also rallied support for APC, which , according to him, is the only party that would bring about development and progress.

In his remark at the ceremony, the state Chairman of the party, Magaji Doho, said the time for change has come, urging the electorate to rally support for APC even as he advised against violence before, during and after the election.

Expressing happiness at the turn-out at the ceremony, former Governor of the state, Senator Danjuma Goje, urged the party's supporters to translate their support into votes for the party during the election, saying all eligible voters should ensure they obtain their permanent voter cards ahead of the election.

The guber candidate, Yahaya, while rooting for support in the election, said he would enhance the welfare of workers, provide employment for the youth, and provide security to all if elected even as he called on his supporters to shun violence during and after the election.
