World football governing body, FIFA, has selected the Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Security Committee, Dr. Christian Emeruwa, as a Security Officer for the global organization.

In a mail sent to Emeruwa recently, the world body said: 'We are pleased to announce that you have been selected to assist our security team as 'junior' FSO (FIFA Security Officer) and would like to propose the following assignment: FIFA U-20 World Cup New Zealand 2015.'

Emeruwa, who has a doctorate degree in administration and organization of sports, from the Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education, University of Ibadan, is also the special assistant to the NFF General Secretary, Barrister Musa Amadu.

A fellow of the Institute of Sports Management, Emeruwa joined the NFF in 2007 as a Sports Officer and also served as Personal Assistant to the then General Secretary, Dr. Bolaji Ojo-Oba. He is now Assistant Chief Sports Officer, but has also earned plaudits for his work as secretary of the NFF Security Committee.

At the tournament in New Zealand, from 30 May - 20 June, 2015, he will work with a 'senior' FIFA Security Officer, Mr. Will van Rhee from the Netherlands.

Only a couple of weeks ago, the Confederation of African Football named Mr. Bola Oyeyode, NFF Deputy Director (Competitions) as an Assistant General Coordinator.
