Ukanafun, Oruk Anam People assure Udom of resounding Victory

As the February general elections draw near, the people of Ukanafun and Oruk Anam local government areas have assured the Peoples Democratic Party Governorship flag bearer, Mr. Udom Emmanuel and his running mate, Mr. Moses Ekpo of a resounding victory at the polls.

They delivered the assurances Saturday, when the Udom Emmanuel/Moses Ekpo 2015 Campaign train stormed the two local government areas ahead of the February 14th and 28th elections.

They equally pledged to vote massively for the emergence of Governor Godswill Akpabio as the next senator for Ikot Ekpene Senatorial district in the National Assembly election in view of his unwavering posture to effectively connect the state to the centre of power in Nigeria.

Speaking through their various leaders, they equally stressed their resolved to also return the House of Representatives candidate in Ukanafun/ OrukAnam Federal Constituency, Obonguwana Emmanuel Ukoette, as well as the House of Assembly Candidates, Sir. Udo Kierian Akpan, for Oruk Anam State Constituency and Mr. Otobong Jonathan for Ukanafun State Constituency.

In Ukanafun, the campaign train earlier paid a courtesy visit to the Paramount Ruler of the area, Edidem. Prof. Victor Umoh where the clan heads, village heads, and family heads gathered to give their blessings to the team.

The royal fathers unanimuously poured royal blessing on the governorship hopeful and expressed confidence in Udom Emmanuel's capability to deliver on his campaign promises.

At the campaign ground held at the Primary School near the Council headquarters in Ikot Akpa Nkuk, stakeholders including,a National Officer of the PDP, Mr. Udo Ekpenyong, Commissioner for Lands and Town Planning,Obong Eno Akpan, Special Adviser, Bureau of Investment and Industrialisation, Chief Senas Ukpanah, Woman Leader, Pastor. Victoria Umo Uko, the Youth Leader of Ukanafun, Barr. Abasiono Udomfu among others, appreciated Governor Godswill Akpabio for the numerous people oriented projects including roads which have given the area a new face, and vowed to queue behind the umbrella party at all times.

The pointed out that no other political party will enjoy their support other than the ruling party in the forthcoming election because of the quality and capacity of candidates paraded by the PDP.

While declaring support for Mr. Udom Emmanuel, the people of the area commended the party leadership in the state for producing a worthy son of Abak 5 in the person of Mr. Moses Ekpo as the deputy governorship candidate, and assured the governor and PDP Chairman that Ukanafun is solidly behind the pair which they described as the divine team that would sustain the uncommon transformation of the state.

At Oruk Anam, the campaign train was received at the Mini Stadium in Ikot Ibritam, Council Secreteriat by a massive crowd never witnessed before in similar outings in the past.

In their speeches, Sir. Vitalis Unang, Mr. Godwin Udom, Mr. Emmanuel Ukoette, Prince Ikim, among others, assured their inlaw, Mr. Udom Emmanuel of their votes.

They assured that he needed not campaign before his inlaws as their votes have already been preserved for him.

Addressing the colourful and ecstatic crowd of supporters at both venues, Mr. Udom Emmanuel thanked Ukanafun people for turning out in such a large number to welcome him and his team to the area and vowed to put smiles on the faces of the people of the area and the state in general if voted into office.

He listed roads infrastructure, health care, industrialization, free and qualitative education, job creation among others as some of the programmes that would be pursued vigorously in a bid to fast track the development of the state.
