Former governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi has allegedly donated N1.5bn to the campaign fund of the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.

A text message from APC NEWS last night indicated that the former governor yesterday, transferred the money from his account in a bank located along Liberation Square, Accra, Ghana.

Sources revealed that the N1.5bn donation was made so as to put Fayemi in a vantage position for ministerial appointment should Buhari wins the February 14 Presidential election.

The source said Fayemi was already expressing fears over the possibility of former governor, Niyi Adebayo being considered ahead of him for the ministerial appointment.

"That is the reason Fayemi abandoned electioneering campaign for the APC in Ekiti State and opted to be following Buhari everywhere he goes.

"What Fayemi is doing is for Buhari to notice him and donating N1.5bn is seen by the former governor as a way to seal the ministerial slot for Ekiti," one of the sources said.
