“Buhari is the nemesis to corruption” another PDP defection to APC as Muhammadu Buhari campaigns in Niger and Kaduna States

13.01.2015, LAGOS, Nigeria—The All Progressives Congress's (APC) presidential campaign's whistle stop tour of all 36 states moved today to Niger and Kaduna States today.

The delegation was led by the presidential candidate Muhammadu Buhari along with his selected vice, Professor Yemi Osinbajo. Other celebrated members of the party were also in attendance including the party's national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the former Governor of Osun state, Bisi Akande. Governor Rotimi Amaechi, who is also the Director General for the campaign; national party leader Bola Ahmed Tinubu; former senator and deputy chairman of APC, Lawa Shuaibu; and Senator Bukola Saraki amongst others—landed in Minna which marked the continuation of the visits to all six regions in the country.

All were warmly received by the deputy Governor of Niger state incumbent governor, Ibikunle Amosun. Hajia Aisha Buhari and Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo, the wives of both the presidential and vice presidential candidates respectively, were also present.

The day kicked off with a courtesy visit to the palace of the Alake of Egbaland, and then proceeded to the Moshood Abiola Stadium, where party dignitaries addressed the mammoth crowd present.

Championing the cause for the presidential candidate the party's national leader, Tinubu revealed Muhammadu Buhari's initial reluctance to run in the elections. “We begged Muhammadu Buhari to contest again,” he said in Yoruba. “Nigeria is challenged and we present to you a great leader who has the ability to think and do and equals to performance. Buhari is the man that can deliver because he is honest, he has integrity.”

Muhamamdu Buhari himself then took to the stage, reiterating his commitment to restoring security, power supply, and infrastructure. He also spoke on the vital importance of reforming the Nigerian education sector. “Certificates from Nigerian universities must be respected throughout the world,” he said.
