Taraba 2015: Arc. Darius Ishaku And The Ray Of Hope

By Objective observation and given the present mood, expectations and general opinion of the people, as the campaign over who succeeds governor Danbaba Suntai in this year general election take centre stage in Taraba State and also considering relevant factors in the range of zoning, creditability, tact, character and consistency. The big question now is, who does the cap fit? Without benefit of doubt, Arc. Darius Ishaku a former minister for Niger-Delta affairs seems to fit into the saddle in all ramifications. This is largely owed to his great achievements, excellent ideas, social standing, practical virtues, impressive credentials and his people inclined manifesto.

Born on the 30th day of July, 1954 at Lupwe, now in Ussa LGA, Taraba State. Darius Ishaku started his early education pursuit at St. Bartholomew's Primary School Wusasa Zaria between1961–1967, where he obtained his FSLC. In a rare circumstance, the young Ishaku gained admission into St. Paul's College Kufena Zaria from 1967 – 1972 where he earned the WASC in brilliant colours. He secured admission into the school of Basic Studies in the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaira in the same year 1972, for his advance level education. In 1974, he was admitted into the school of Architecture, ABU Zaira, where he fervently read and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architecture in 1977. After the mandatory one year National Youth Service in Imo State, Arc Darius Ishaku returned to ABU Zaria and bagged the Masters of Science Degree in Architecture with distinction which propelled him to pursue another masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning. Arc. Darius Ishaku a man of robust Architectural working experience has been wide and varied, as a result of which he has produced several architectural designs of greater significance all over the country and beyond.

With the determination and zeal to succeed, when President Goodluck Jonathan was elected into office in May, 29 2011, with the objective of transforming the unfortunate condition of Nigeria. In August 2011, Arc. Darius Ishaku was invited on board. Where he was beckoned upon by the president to serve as Minister of State for Power and later Acting Minister of Power. In October 2012, the president assigned him to the Ministry of State for Niger Delta affairs.

Arc. Davirus Ishaku, a man with viable connect with stake holders both at State and the national realm of politics have consistently kept faith with the people. A detribalize Nigerian, quite humble, extremely generous and easy going person that carries everyone along irrespective of tribe, religion, culture and race represent the ray of hope in the horizon.
