Scores Feared Killed In Bauchi Bomb Blast

Few hours after an explosion killed at least 15 persons at a motor park in Gombe, a similar explosion hit central market in neighbouring Bauchi, capital of Bauchi State.

Sources said the explosive device was believed to have been planted in the market and was detonated about 5pm, when the market was closing.

A security source said there were fears the casualty figures were high given the timing of the explosion.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Haruna Mohammed did not respond to enquiries by Pointblanknews.com.
