I WILL NOT SCUMB TO ANY PRESSURE THAT WILL SUPPORT THE ILLEGALITY OF A SYSTEM-JOEL MADAKI
The ever struggling Chief Joel Madaki faction of Adamawa State People's Democratic Party (PDP), on Monday convened a press conference and issue a press release at the party secretariat in Yola, the entire party executive Committee, aspirants, Stakeholders and the entire supporters of the party exonerated President Goodluck Jonathan from the illegality perpetrated by the National Working Committee to the people of Adamawa State.
While Speaking before the mammoth supporters at the party office the embattled
chairman, chief Joel Madaki debunked rumours making rounds that
President Goodluck is responsible for the problems of the state,
saying it is the Adamawa people at the corridor of power in Abuja that
continue to make Adamawa ungovernable.
“The son of the soil who are close to the presidency have decided to turned Adamawa a dumping ground”
Joel Madaki also said, “President Jonathan should not be crucified
for the sins of Adamawa people when we know those behind the
misfortune of the state”.
In a press release signed by four of the governorship aspirants and
read by General Aliyu Kama (rtd), said the stakeholders in the state
have dissociated themselves from the malicious and fictitious
announcement of Mallam Nuhu Ribadu as the governorship candidate of
the party in the state.
General Aliyu Kama in the statement further stated that “it has been
categorically stated that the only primaries held in the state and
recognized was that of the state House of Assembly which is the only
legal primaries”.
He called on the National Working Committee of the PDP to as a matter
of urgency cancel the purported illegal primaries held in Abuja which
is in contravention to the court orders and the electoral Act as well
as organizing and conducting the remaining primaries, being that of
the National Assembly and Governorship as provided for in the law.
Another governorship aspirant, Senator Abubakar Girei who spoke,
lamented that indigenes of Adamawa state are using the state as a
dumping ground for political crisis, stressing that those who ferment
the crisis are ashamed and could not come to the state as they could
not move freely in the streets.
Senator Girei who is also the Director-General Ngillari Campaign
Organisation, debunked the insinuations that Governor Bala James
Ngillari has been forced to drop his governship ambition to senatorial
position, adding that it is a mere rumour and if it is tru, the
governor would have notified the party at the state level.
Also speaking, Barrister Auwal Tukur expressed displeasure on the
manner the National Working Committee of the party takes Adamawa
aspirants for granted, saying “Adamawa PDP is finished, it is in
trouble, and defection in the party now will surely weaken the party
in all ramifications”.
Barr. Tukur explained, “if all the internal party mechanism aimed at
resolving the crisis of impunity is exhausted, we would be left with
no option other than to seek redress from the court of law or defect
to another political party, since imposition of candidate has become
the order of the day in Peoples' Democratic Party in Adamawa State.
However, findings revealed that all the oppressed aspirants in PDP as
well as defeated APC members are warming up to pick tent with the
People's Democratic Movement (PDM) while other political pundits
envisaged that the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar's campaign
structures have already defected to the PDM.
Meanwhile, strong speculations also have it that Dr. Ahmed Modibbo who
was a governorship aspirant under the ruling PDP has already defected
to the PDM along with his wife, Hon. Aisha Mohammed (Binani).
Similarly there are unconfirmed report that the aggrieved PDP members
who have defected to another party might be suspended, but the party
executives on Monday denied the allegation, saying the speculations
are baseless adding that though more consultations are been carried
out to that effects.
