Kano Emir Escapes Death As Bomb Hits Kano Central Mosque

Scores were feared killed Friday afternoon when a powerful explosion hit the Kano Central mosque, where the Emir of Kano Sanusi Lamido Sanusi and prominent muslims in the state observe the Juma'at prayers.

Details were still sketchy, but witnesses told Pointblanknews.com that several worshipers were killed by the explosion.

Scores more were said to have been injured. Firefighters and emergency workers had reportedly swooped on the scene of the blast rescuing survivors and removing the dead.

Emir Sanusi who usually leads Juma'at prayers in the targeted mosque was said to be in far away Paris when the blast occurred.
