By Ibrahim-Gwamna Mshelizza

A senatorial Aspirant for Southern Borno Senatorial
districts on the platform of the People Democratic Party
(PDP), Mr. Nicolas Mshelizza has warned politicians to stop playing politics with people's lives.

Mr. Mshelizza who made the call while interacting
with journalists in Maiduguri said β€œit is unfortunate that
APC government in Borno closed the gate of internally Displaced Person camp when we visited them to present some relief materials, depriving them of their livelihood.”

He said it is unfortunate that politician are plyaing
politics with the insecurity facing the state, as he believe
the relief materials will assist both the government and the
IDPs, stressing that after all what government is giving
them is their right, as the materials were bought with government resources.

The Senatorial aspirant said he was in the race to bring
change and good governance and also add value to the standard of living of the people. β€œI will ensure that justice and equity is done in the distribution of political office, I also intend to drill at least 100 boreholes annually and also encourage youths to engage in productive venture,” Nicolas stated.

He said he decided to contest on the platform of the PDP
because it is his party pointing out that being in the opposition does not attract development from the central government, stressing that it was high time Borno joined the mainstream politics by being in the same party with the government at the center.

Mr. Nicolas said it is unfortunate that the Bor state government is paying discriminatory minimum wage, as
primary school teachers in southern Borno are not being paid the N18,000 minimum wage, though they constitute the majority, while their counterpart in northern Borno are
enjoying the minimum wage.

He advised the people of Southern Borno not to be
intimidated by the stipends politicians are giving them and appealed to them to always elect credible people who can
bring development to the area.
