Kashim Imam Begs Borno People For Forgiveness

A former Chieftain of the APC in Borno , Alhaji Kashim Imam has asked the people of the state to forgive him and the former Governor , Senator Ali Modu Sheriff for "the fundamental error if judgment in enthroning Governor Kashim Shettima as Governor in 2011.

"We take full responsibility as this government has failed the people of Borno woefully. We earnestly seek for forgiveness and we are ready to effect change so that the people can have a sigh of relief and a new lease of life" he said.

"We are committed to the enthronement of a new government which shall be caring and responsible for the task of the great reconstruction that lie ahead" Kashim said.

Alhaji Kashim Imam reiterated that the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has resolved to find lasting solution to the insurgency in the Borno and the North East in general pointing out that no sacrifice is too great to make to attain this objective hence their belonging to the same camp.

He also said that "we resolve to be on the same bench with the Federal Government in the interedt of the state stressing that Borno cannot afford to to remain in the opposition.

Speaking at the first press conference of the new PDP , Sen.(Dr) Ali Sheriff described the party as a "moving train" that cannot be stopped with bare hands but must reach its destination by removing the government of Alhaji Jashim Shettima and replacing it with a sensitive, caring government.

He said that Kashim Shettima has wasted more than 400 Billion Naira of Borno's revenue which accrued to the state within the period he has been st the Helm of affairs.
