RIVERS APC LEADERSHIP HOLDS MEETING WITH STAKEHOLDERS

By APC Rivers State

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State last Friday held a major stakeholders meeting, involving all ward and Local Government Executive Committee members at the Party's State Secretariat in Port Harcourt as part of the strategy to perfect plans ahead of the 2015 general elections. The meeting was held to fashion out and ensure that the party sweeps all elective positions in Rivers State come 2015.

Addressing the over 2,000 attendees, the State Chairman of APC, Chief (Dr.) Davies Ibiamu Ikanya called on party faithful across the state to remain committed and dedicated to party activities to ensure that the party is both strategically and properly positioned for victory come 2015.

Dr. Ikanya stated that the meeting became necessary after the State Working Committee [SWC] and the State Executive Committee [SEC] perceived certain grievances among party members and their Ward and Local Government leaderships.

He reiterated the Party's Commitment to ensure that all aggrieved party members were brought together while assuring the audience that the party would conduct primaries as a way of resisting imposition of candidates.

Dr. Ikanya encouraged all those present to state the true and real position and issues bothering them both at the ward and local government levels without fear or favour. He made the crowd to know that the fight in Rivers State was beyond APC and PDP or Amaechi versus anybody, but that it is a fight against darkness and light, adding that God will not allow a governor that will go to church in the morning and in the night he is wearing occult garment to rule Rivers State.

The Chairman seized the opportunity to let party faithful know that APC is the only political party with the right ideology, manifesto and constitution in Nigeria.

Dr. Ikanya made it categorically clear that APC was not only the most organized political party in Nigeria, but that the party was on a rescue mission to salvage Nigeria from the art of bad governance, impunity and irregularities in the administration process.

Dr. Ikanya assured the audience that in 2015, APC will produce the next Governor in Rivers State, while charging the stakeholders to work hard to ensure that the party wins all the constituency seats so that lawmakers who are on the other side will not disturb the APC governor.

Stakeholders who spoke at the meeting raised critical issues which the Chairman subsequently addressed without delay thereby bringing the meeting to a close on a happy note.
