Injustice To Mr. John Agbe Family Entire Agbor Community Of Delta State

A passionate appeal for justice and urgent intervention of the Inspector General of Police to order full investigation of the gruesome murder of late Mr. Arthur Agbe, a youth from delta state has been made by Barrister Lkpeazu on behalf of the Mr. John Agbe family of Agbor, Delta State.

According to the family, on the 15" of October, 2003, Mr. Arthur Agbe was hired by one Barrister Ikpeazu to assist in clearing his parcel of land at lkpeazu Avenue/Upper Okubi Street in Boji-Boji, Owa, Delta State.

On getting to the said parcel of land with other artisans hired by Barrister lkpeazu for the said work, they were attacked by men wielding various dangerous weapon ranging machetes, daggers, iron bars etc. Mr. Arthur Agbe and others were beaten pulp and while some of them were taken to Owa-Uyibu Police station and detained there, Mr. Arthur Agbe did not survive the attack as he died from injuries inflicted on him by his assailants who were later identified as members of the former Commissioner for Health in Delta State, Dr. lfeanyi Okowa's killer squad which he uses to settle political, land and communal disputes.

Based on the petition of Barrister Ikpeazu, the then Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Tafa Balogun directed that investigation be carried on the complaint thus prompting the police to arrest some of those Dr. Okowa's murderous gang members.

They were detained and were being Interrogated before Dr. Okowa who was then the Della state Commissioner for Health used his influence to stall investigations into the gruesome and unlawful killing of the deceased but innocent Arthur Agbe whose murder he allegedly instigated and for which he is yet to be arrested, investigated and prosecuted all these past ten years.

The family is passionately appealing to the new Inspector of Police to urgently intervene and order a fresh, impartial and conclusive investigation in the callous and dastardly murdered of Mr. Arthur Agbe. They should be brought to justice immediately because the continued denial of Justice over this matter will amount to continued denial of justice to the bereaved family as well as the entire Agbor community.
