Crescent University Cooperative Declares N1.7m At 3rd AGM

Crescent University, Abeokuta Cooperative Society ( CRESCOOPS), has declared One Million, Six Hundred and Forty-three Thousand, Five Hundred and Three Naira at its third year of existence, the President, Mr Mutiu Lawal has revealed at the third Annual General Meeting.

Lawal who said the membership increased from 61 in 2012 to 83 in 2014, said many members ' are now proud owners of their plots of land, adding that both members and non-members had benefitted from bulk purchases of food and electronic items' in recent times.

Lawal also said revealed that all members had benefitted from the interest-free loan of the society.

In his remarks, the Chairman, Board of Trustees of The University, His Excellency, Judge Bola Ajibola prayed for more success of the cooperative society, urging it to continue in the direction of progress.

Having read all the books of the society with the university bursar, Judge Ajibola described it as " you have performed".

He said the cooperative was not discriminatory as it embraced non Muslims within the university.

The Secretary of the cooperative, Mr Isiaka Bisiriyu urged members to always attend meetings as 70% of meetings would be prerequisite for granting loans to members.
