Yelga Students Drum Support For Ikiogha

Students under the aegis of the National Union of Yenagoa Local Government Area Students (NUYLGAS), have drummed more support for Chief Diekivie Bovie Ikiogha's bid for the Yelga/Kolga House of Representatives Seat.

Speaking during a solidarity visit at the aspirant's Campaign office in Yenagoa, President of the union, Comrade Clement Monovie described Chief Ikiogha's aspiration as a beacon of hope to students.

According to him, Chief Ikiogha has rendered financial support to many indigent students, hence students are hopeful that he would do more when elected.

Comrade Monovie, appealled to Chief Ikiogha to sustain philanthropy and access to students when elevated to the National Assembly.

The union made up of students across all clans in Yenagoa Local Government Area,

declared unflinching support for Chief Ikiogha and called on other student unuions to pinch tents in the aspirant's camp.

Responding, Chief Ikiogha said when voted, he will place premium on the welfare of students and unemployed youths.

Chief Ikiogha said, his personal foundation has been rendering scholarship and and free medical services to the needy, assuring that he would use constituency funds to creaate special programmes for students and unemployed youths, women graduates and the aged , to make them self-reliant.

He noted that although students were not active politicians, they have rights to voting to and free expression, hence need to be carried along in the scheme of thiings.

Chief lkiogha admonished students in the constituency and Bayelsa at large, to shun been used by desperate politicians to cause violence, adding that such politicians would never use their children for criminal acts.

Earlier, DG of Ikiogha's Campaigns, Chief Victor Awala, vouched that Chief Ikiigha was a man of his words, stressing that he would not disappoint the youths, when given the mandate to represent the people of Yenagoa/Kolokuma/Opokuma Federal Constituency.
