Massive Resignation Hits Borno APC

The All Progressives Congress, APC in Borno State has been hit by massive resignation of party officials following the formal defection of former Governor of the state, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff. As at the last count, nine officials including the Deputy state Chairman, Shettima Shehu, Publicity Secretary , Makinta Zarami, State Vice Chairman, zone A, Baba Gana Ajari, Abdulkarim Abbass, Assistant State Secretary, Umar Abacha Ngala, Assistant Welfare Secretary, Hajiya Amalgoni, Women Leader, zone A, Mele Innani, Assistant Auditor, and Mohammed Ahmed Anga, Ex Officio.

The officers who collectively submitted their resignation letters at the national secretariat of the APC in Abuja told newsmen that they have lost confidence in the leadership of the APC at both national and state levels, and that the scandalous manner Governor Kashim Shettima has been conducting the affairs of the APC led Government in Borno State, we're enough reasons for them to quit.

According to them, the APC has lost focus and they cannot remain on board a sinking ship, stressing that the PDP offers better opportunities in the current situation, as being in the opposition has robbed the people of Borno State great opportunities in the past.

The officials also accused the leadership of the APC in Borno State, under Ali Bukar Dalori as a rubber stamp and a cesspit of corruption, where state government resources were being squandered.

While pledging their loyalty to former Governor, Ali Modu Sheriff and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) the officials said that the APC stands no chance against the PDP given the disastrous outing by the party in Government.
