NOMINATION AND SUBSEQUENT ELECTION OF HON. AIYAMENKHUE COLLINS EDOKPOLO AS CANDIDATE OF APC IN THE EDHA2015 ELECTIONS, GOOD OMEN FOR THE PEOPLE OF IKPOBA-OKHA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA, EDO STATE

While on a mini sensitization visit by Concerned Citizens for Edokpolo in the past weeks to communities within Ikpoba-Okha axis, it became clear that the good people of the Local Council appreciates the overwhelming contributions of the distinguished Benin-based socio-cultural leader to the growth and development of the Area, as people trooped out in their numbers to pledge their undivided support for the aspiration of Comrade Edokpolo in the Edo House of Assembly race. As the train moved from place to place, it became evident that drastic CHANGE is a major need as articulated by representative-heads of respective groups present at the move.

As we all know, one thing that is constant and will always be yearned for is CHANGE, the majority members of Ikpoba-Okha communities see the coming on board of Comrade Aiyamenkhue Edokpolo as their representative in the Anthony Enahoro's Complex as a major deconstructive tool against long-standing centrifugal forces that have consistently hampered meaningful, conspicuous and sustainable development within the Council; yet the Area accounts for more than 50% internally generated revenue of the entire State.

The visit could have been preferably termed a 'test of popularity visit,' but for a figure like Edokpolo whose name, integrity, leadership-sagacity, popularity, mien, social and cultural activism navigates beyond the shores of our land and is unarguably stainless, it becomes only a misjudgment to say thus; rather one will not be held liable if he says that the people of Ikpoba-Okha craves for the messianic representation that Edokpolo gears up to bring on board, with the attendant benefits all for the good of the Council.

we do not know all the communities and villages in our Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, but like we have said earlier, True and efficacious Democracy can only be measured by the reflections and testimonies of the majority people; it can rightly be said that true and efficacious representation can only be measured by the reflections and testimonies of the people been represented. We do not have any fear or skepticism, if Aiyamenkhue Edokpolo represents the collective interests of Ikpoba-Okha, not only because he understands the needs of the council like the palm of his hands, but simply that he has consistently remained a long-standing developmental instrument, forging and articulating developmental tendencies and ways-forward for successive Ikpoba-Okha governments in particular and State's in general.

We are convinced beyond every reasonable doubt that while in office as the elected and constructive representative for the high revenue-generating Local Council of Ikpoba-Okha, Edo State, these communities; Aduwawa, Agedo, Ekiuwa, Evboriaria, Evboamufi, Evbuomodu, Ighekpe, Iguehana, Ogbeson, Ohovbe, Otene Camp, Urora (Uhoho), Ute, Okha, Ologbo, Ajoki, Akpe, Avbiama, Egbonodoka, Egun, Ekae, Ekosa, Erimona, Erome, Evbomoma, Evbosa, Ogheghe, Idogbo, Igbehimwan, Iyanomo, Ihinmwinrin, Ulegun, Imasabor, Ivbiugo, Obadoloviyeyi, Obagie, Obagie Nevbosa, Obaretin, Obayantor, Obe, Obenevbugo, Ogbekpen, Ogheghe, Oghoghobi, Okabere, Okanaruovia, Okaniro, Okanevboahire, Okha, Okha Inland, Orogbo, Orhibanmu, Orogbo Camp, Uhie, Ukhirhi, Ukhirhi Nekhere, Umelu, Uroho, Utezi, Uwusan, Obah, Obazagbon, and the townships will be direct beneficiaries of the tripartite policy-agenda viz (GRASSROOT CONSULTATION, DEMOCRATIC ARTICULATION and CONSTRUCTIVE REPRESENTATION) proposed to usher in the needed sustainable transformation (economic, social, political and academic, etc) which forms the collective outcry of Ikpoba-Okha people.

Akponmwen Odolevbo, wa gia rie obo ye iyeke odolevbo. Edokpolo is an odolevbo who deserves massive fellowship. Edokpolo consistently clinically analyze issues that lies within the developmental challenges of Edo State, constructively and intellectually mobilizing men and materials, poising governments to roll out democracy dividends geared towards emancipating the grassroot, the middle class and the upper from the shackles of administrative and government high-handedness; little wonder, his popularity within Edo State particularly is unfathomable.

We trust the discerning people of Ikpoba-Okha to make the right choice.
