IKIOGHA’S ELECTIVE ASPIRATION RECEIVES BOOST

The Peoples Democratic Party aspirant for Yenagoa/ Kolokumo/Opokumo Federal Constituency, Chief Diekivie Bovie Ikiogha, Chief of Staff Bayelsa House, Abuja, has concluded consultations, with a boost to his aspiration.

Special Assistant on Media and public relations to the Chief of Staff, Bayelsa House, Abuja, Mr. Etete Enideneze, stated in Yenagoa that traditional rulers consulted and political groups welcomed Chief Ikiogha's intention.

According to the media aide, Chief Ikiogha visited the traditional rulers in the constituency to intimate them of his intention to contest the 2015 election, adding that the aspirant was blessed by Royal Fathers in all the clans of Yenagoa/Kolokumo/Opokumo Federal Constituency.

Mr. Etete further said that the consultation, commenced from Epie, the aspirant's clan, and later to Atissa, during which King Malla Sasime and King Godwin Igodo gave their royal blessings and described Chief Ikiogha as a true servant of the people whose performance was already known.

The media aide also stated that at a Ekpetiama clan, the Acting Head, HRH Christian Otobotekere lauded Chief Ikiogha's visit to his palace noting that the aspirant was the first in the constituency to intimate him of interest to contend for the position.

At Kaiama, king Mozi Agara, spoke in like manner with his counterparts and prayed God to guide and protect Chief Ikiogha while in the race.

Speaking at Opokumo, Chief Victor Awala and former Environment Commissioner in the State Bar. Sylvanus Abila, called for adherence to the zoning of Yenagoa Central Senatorial seat to kolokumo/Opkumo and House of Representatives to Yenagoa, pointing out that it would promote mutual respect and feeling of inclusiveness between the two Local Government Areas.

Responding, clan head of Opokuma, King Okpoitari Diongoli, thanked Chief Diekivie Bovie Ikiogha and his entourage for visiting to intimate about his electoral ambition, and wished him success in the race.

Other clans visited by Chief Ikiogha and his team of supporters are State Gbarain Okordia, Zarama and Buseni, where traditional rulers of each of the clans also blessed and urged him to sustain the aspiration till the election was wone.

In his remarks at different clans, Chief Ikiogha, said his decision to contest the Yanagoa/Kolokumo/Opokumo Federal Constituency seat, was to regain the Council Chairmanship mandate given to him by the old Yenagoa Local Government Area on the platform of the National Republican Convention in 1993, which was stalled by the Abacha coup. He implored the people of the constituency to support his aspiration once again.

Earlier, the PDP aspirant assured of quality representation, and promised that he would formally visit traditional, women, youths, elite and political groups to unveil his people-oriented parliamentary agenda.

Chief Diekivie Bovie Ikiogha and his supporters also visited the State Executive Council of the PDP at the party secretariat in Yenagoa.
